John L. Burns refused to be shut out of the Civil War on account of his age. On July 1, 1863, with Robert E. Lee's army approaching Gettysburg, Burns grabbed his musket & ran to battle. The brave Burns became known as the "Hero of Gettysburg." The State #Archives preserves this image of a statue honoring Burns. ➡ pastatearchives.com
