The reality is AP took over a depleted roster and in that "win now" false timeline patched 25+ roster holes with older 1-year free agents.
This skipped the natural maturation of a roster because underlying draft depth takes 3 to 4 cycles to accumulate, injuries and aging veterans caused a regression or plateau in Years 2 and 3 before the roster could truly stabilize
