Beyond the library of textbooks runs another shelf of medicine β one made up of novels, essays, and memoirs that explore the field not through knowledge, but through lived experience. These are books about care when cure is no longer possible, about error and accountability, about bodies that fail and minds that endure, about limits and the many ways people push against them.
For many physicians, these works prove more formative than entire courses. We've gathered 10 titles every doctor should read at least once - tap the link full list: mdsc.pe/3Uy39Mr

ALT This image is an infographic titled "Detectable C-Peptide and Diabetic Ketoacidosis Risk in Type 1 Diabetes." It contains sections on the aim, results, study population, and implications of a study. The aim is to assess if detectable C-peptide levels in Type 1 diabetes correlate with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) risk. The study involved 1,441 participants, resulting in 180 DKA events. Results indicate a lower risk of recurrent DKA with stimulated C-peptide β₯0.2 nmol/L. Implications suggest maintaining detectable C-peptide could lower DKA risk. The source is from the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT).
