Help! This semester, I'm planning to ask my 125 students to build their own code hardness as the project for my take on the Missing Semester. Any idea of how to get free tokens for them to do the project? In Portugal, we don't have .edu accounts, so I need a domain whitelisting.

We build smooth UX on localhost and stable WiFi, then ship into environments with unstable networks, slow devices and backend APIs we do not control. Architecture decisions become the difference between a usable product and a broken one.
@farisaziz12 explores how to evaluate data flows under stress, handle different API classes, and separate what is critical from what is optional. We start from a setup that technically works but crumbles under real latency, then evolve it into something resilient and intentional.
All demos were recorded on a long haul flight using unreliable in flight WiFi, exposing how brutal real conditions can be. The goal is to rethink how we design data access for the real conditions users actually use them in. – at Lisbon, Portugal

Many people asked how the World Cup posters are generated.
I wrote a breakdown of the system behind them.
It covers the chrono-grid, visual encoding, and the rules that transform a match into a poster.

Right now, we are helping a Lisbon non-profit that supports refugees and migrants scale their work across Portugal 🇵🇹
Earlier this year, @LisboaUX & @LisboaJS_ started pairing young developers and designers with mentors to build critical digital tools for non-profits. The impact has been real, and now we’re ready to scale.
Our vision: Empower 50 non-profits by the end of 2027.
To hit this milestone, we need infrastructure, design, and dev-tool partners to step up. If your company can provide tooling, financial sponsorship, or engineering expertise, you will be creating real, direct impact.
How you can support us:
🛠️ Dev Tools & Infra: Provide licenses, API credits, or cloud infrastructure for our project teams.
💰 Financial Sponsorship: Help keep these community-driven programs sustainable.
🧠 Mentorship & Expertise: Encourage your senior engineers and designers to guide a team.
If your company builds tools for the next generation of creators, we want you embedded in our workflow.
