Here’s the thing about acting civilized (or at least trying) on this app: Craig and I often have polite arguments over political stuff. He’s not a “lefty”, he also just sees things differently than I do. We often have interactions that politely end with the phrase “we’re not going to agree on this.”
He also served his country in uniform and loves this great Nation. We originally discovered each other on here due to a disagreement. We’ve had plenty since, there will clearly be more. That’s ok. Both of us were soldiers, we both enjoy fly fishing & the outdoors. We both love our Country. That’s the important stuff.
After going back & forth about public executions & our positions, I found this post from him. I now understand his perspective & it’s well articulated. I still disagree & that’s ok.
I’d invite him to dinner if we lived closer together.

Also, PTSD is dramatically lower, but TBI is significantly higher among SOF. A large part is due to "locus of control". That is who decides the time and place of your potentially traumatic events? If it's you, much less traumatic. If it's the enemy, substantially more traumatic.

Yesterday, I sat before @SecWar, @TheJointStaff, and @HASCRepublicans, read his proposed citation into the record, and made the case that his Silver Star should be upgraded to a Medal of Honor.
I know every word of that citation to be true, because I was one of the teammates he rescued from a near and complex ambush, which is only one of 14 distinct and selfless acts of valor performed by SFC Grasso during that mission.

Yea kids, a known quantity (and legend) in GWOT SOF who spent more time killing assholes than you have on the phone, who sacrificed and lost more than you can honestly fathom in service to this country is “totally a traitor”…….for leaving his position because he personally disagrees with the course of something.
It is totally possible to disagree with what they are saying, yet still fully understand their reasoning and obligation to a personal moral code.
