Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.
In memory of David Lynch, we will continue to explore the otherworldly and the unknown. We will focus not on the loss, but on what we gained from the years we shared this planet with you. We will see you in our dreams.

ALT Using the Event Horizon Telescope, scientists obtained this image of the black hole at the center of galaxy M87, outlined by emission from hot gas swirling around it under the influence of strong gravity near its event horizon. The hot gas is shaped like a doughnut and is glowing a warm yellow color with reddish tint at its edges. The darkness of space is black in the background. Unfortunately just had the experience every miserable nerd like myself dreams of — the used book store cashier was so impressed with my purchase that we had a 45 minute conversation and he showed me the back room of unpriced books

therapy is cool, but have you ever gone to the movies alone and to a late showing so you have the theater all to yourself ?

After an important exam, when I felt like I didn’t do well, I didn’t want to go home, so I went to the movie theater. I would then go home feeling cheered up after realizing that exams aren’t such a big deal. Or the time I had a fight with my girlfriend, and the mood got bad, we just went to a random movie theater that we saw in front of us. Without evening knowing anything about the movie, we bought two tickets and just watched. It as a ridiculous comedy but by the time we finished watching it, we were able to make up. Movie theaters have always been there for me.
When I was young, I went to the movie theater whenever I had a bad day or wanted to be alone. So I often went to late night showings. Back in those days, there was no reservation system, so when I ran in, the movie was often in the middle of the show. I feel like that experience was more like escaping into a fantasy world or into a cocoon of the movie theater, rather than going to watch a movie. Today, I recalled a lot of memories, but I felt appreciation for the late night showings.
