Tommy Robinson, 43, has been found guilty of two counts of harassment causing fear of violence against freelance reporter Andrew Young and Daily Mail editor Jacob Dirnhuber at Southwark Crown Court.
The case followed the Mail's coverage of his Cyprus holiday during the August 2024 riots. Robinson claimed it exposed his family's location and endangered them, saying he wanted to question the journalists on camera. Dirnhuber told the court no identifiable pictures of Robinson's children were published.
Robinson hired private investigators to locate their homes and published photographs online, including cropped images of Young's family whose faces were not visible. He also targeted the journalists through calls and messages.
He messaged Dirnhuber: “I'll be knocking at your door.” Dirnhuber left his home, while Young was provided with a close protection officer.
"They could have run the story without giving my location. They shouldn't have done that and this is not journalism, this is endangering us" Tommy told the court.
Robinson remains on bail until sentencing on 16 December. Each offence carries a maximum of 10 years in prison; his sentence has yet to be decided.
