Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Kevin A. Houston grew up in West Hyannisport, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1994. He enlisted in the Navy in January 1995 and completed SEAL training in 1999, beginning a career that took him through SEAL Team 4 and eventually to DEVGRU, the Navy's Special Mission Unit.
On August 6, 2011, during his fourth tour in Afghanistan, Houston was aboard the CH-47 Chinook known as Extortion 17 when it was shot down in Wardak Province. The helicopter was carrying a quick reaction force to reinforce Army Rangers already engaged on the ground. All 38 people on board were killed, including 30 Americans, making it the single greatest loss of life in Naval Special Warfare history.
He was 35 years old. Friends remembered him as kind, outgoing, and tougher than anyone around him, and his mother said he was born to be a SEAL. He left behind his wife, Meiling, and their three children.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George George Alainengiya Alainengiya Junior, our beloved CTO, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
@web3Bard101 was an important part of the Payfrica family, contributing his time, talent, and vision to what we are building together. Beyond his role, he was an amazing person whose presence meant a great deal to those around him. His passing is a painful loss to our entire team, and we are deeply saddened that we have to say goodbye to someone who was such an important part of our journey.
While words cannot fully express the weight of this loss, we remain grateful for the time we shared with him and the contributions he made to our team. His absence will be deeply felt, and he will always be remembered as part of the Payfrica story.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone mourning his passing. We pray that God grants them the strength to endure this difficult time, surrounds them with comfort and peace, and gives them hope in the midst of their grief.
May the Lord receive George into His eternal peace, and may he rest in perfect peace. May the beautiful memories he leaves behind continue to live on in the hearts of everyone whose life he touched.
Rest in peace, George. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. 🕊️🤍
