Machilipatnam Greenfield Port, being executed by MEIL Group, converting nearly 1,800 acres along Andhra Pradesh’s coastline into a modern deep-sea trade hub. In Phase 1, the port features four berths capable of anchoring large vessels up to 80,000 DWT and handling an annual capacity of 35 million tonnes. The uniqueness of the project lies in its state-of-the-art coastal defense engineering, which includes a 2,075-meter South Breakwater and a 250-meter North Breakwater reinforced by over 37,440 tetrapods of 7 tonnes and 5,531 tetrapods of 8 tonnes each to withstand harsh marine conditions. MEIL highlights its technical execution expertise by utilizing specialized trailer suction and cutter suction dredging methods, installing 1.8 crore meters of Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) for soil consolidation, and placing 65,000 metric tonnes of concrete diaphragm walls underwater to ensure exceptional structural stability.
