Wait what? We don’t have to vilify everyone with a different letter behind their name, crush all their bills & take ALL the power? We can actually work together for the good of ALL the citizens? This is crazy!
NYT: Gina Hinojosa announces that former Texas State House Representative Ernest Bailes, a Republican, will be part of her transition team. Hinojosa: “We will have a bipartisan transition and we will have a bipartisan administration in government in Texas.”

It is a new day in Texas. Cheers!
Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all. Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong. The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

Some of you will not get this and that's okay: In this story, the heroes at the Alamo are the Republican Texas House members who were annihilated in their GOP primaries by Greg Abbott 2 years ago because they wouldn't vote for school vouchers. God bless em #TxLege

Yup
Is anyone concerned about all the centralizing of power that the fake conservative Rs did during the 89th session... now that the Ds will control the state government? You should be... and no one should have supported: - fake school choice - fake parental rights amendment - centralized bail bond reform To name a few. Over a decade+ Globalist @GregAbbott_TX worked diligently to remove autonomy from individuals and local government... now, he's handing all of this top-down oversight he accrued to Ds. Almost like it was planned that way.

Oof, Skippy. This is the way. Texas Public Schools WON BIG TIME tonight! Sure hope you didn’t buy a home in Texas. Looks like your job was only temporary.
Seems like Texans made their voices heard tonight despite your lies, falsehoods and deceptions to try to force something that wasn’t wanted. You may have bought some seats but you couldn’t silence us all. Texans love their community schools…. @CoxHerb

Gossip You Need to Know: Commissioner Morath was scheduled to address a group of superintendents for an hour-and-a-half today. Been on his calendar. He was there. Superintendents there say he gave a five-minute farewell speech and left. #txlege #txed

I am voting against your big government, Dunn-owned, record-spending, socialist voucher scam, property tax lying, STAAR-tripling, Bible Lesson forcing, American-importing, Colony Ridge protecting, piece of trash party. My first blue votes ever. Burn it down. All of it. You're Commies with golden crosses.

I want to remind everyone that Greg Abbott’s single largest donor is a Muslim immigrant from Pakistan. For years, Abbott has demonized Muslims and immigrants while accepting millions from a man who is both. The hypocrisy speaks for itself. Texas, make the right choice!

Oof… Why is Seth Rose still a thing? He is an embarrassment to the w ties GOP for propping him up. Just like Presler.
But just FYI it’s totally ok to be a gay porn star who is paid to advocate for school vouchers. 👌

Tiffany Perkinz is a teacher with extensive educational experience and background. Julie Pickren has a fake online degree and zero educational experience or education. It’s time to fix what’s wrong with our educational system. Vote for Public education.
Tiffany Perkinz would bring a breath of fresh air and common sense values to the SBOE. I am happy to endorse her as she looks to represent all of the students in District 7, not just those her opponents deem worthy. Tiffany is a true Texan.

Damn straight. This great nation wasn’t founded on a two-party system so shaming people into party allegiance is bullshit to begin. But since we are herded into binary lanes, I chose the one whose principles supposedly aligned with mine. Unfortunately, the party leaders don’t align with them. I didn’t leave the party. It left me. alicelinahan.substack.com/p/… What Happened to the Conservative Movement? We were told Republicans stood for limited government. Yet state authority over education has expanded. We were told Republicans stood for local control. Yet Texas continues to increase state intervention in local school districts. We were told Republicans stood for parental rights. Yet education policy increasingly involves state-approved systems, private contractors, and data collection. We were told Republicans stood against government dependency. Yet Republican leaders champion taxpayer-funded programs that bring private education into new relationships with government. We were told Republicans opposed political corruption and special interests. Yet billionaire donors have enormous influence over political campaigns, party leadership contests, and policy advocacy. And when conservative Republicans challenge these contradictions, we are accused of helping Democrats. Since when did holding Republicans accountable become an act of disloyalty? ~@Woodyboy2020

Hell, they spent years whining incessantly about the man, even ruining events for others with their self centered stunts and antics. Unlike Paxton, who refused to come to the RGV until very recently and only in desperation and under pressure, Cornyn was here for us for YEARS. He supported us as we fought for every percentage point we could, every election. Multiple times I’ve referred citizens to his office for remedy, including abused veterans, and his people addressed their concerns promptly without asking for a thing in return. And another thing? It was Cornyn who paid to keep the lights on at Texas GOP HQ. These same people criticizing him on the state party’s executive committee were so lax in financial oversight that they allowed it to be financially run into the ground, and it was Cornyn who saved their collective asses. Yet today they talk about “having to hold their noses.” They sure didn’t hold their noses when he was paying their bills, right?
