Made some local wrestling history on a rainy Tuesday night! We hosted the first ever Middle School girls-only wrestling meet in the St Croix Valley. Nearly 80 girls from 8 teams came together to let it fly. Packed gym with a great crowd cheering the ladies on. More importantly than for my own benefit, I am doing everything I’ve ever told my wrestlers on how to train, recover, diet & THINK & do EXTRA going into the biggest opportunity & match of my life
like I said less even for my own benefit
But I want to be a walking example for my athletes. I want them to see my example and want to emulate how I’m navigating this journey.
I’ve never had a better opportunity to impact my athletes than in this moment in time.
This is for you guys. I am DIALED IN & loving every second of it. I don’t want it to be I told you so I want it to be natural. Hopefully they can appreciate that & I can be the captain these guys need.
Thankful, grateful & blessed for the PAIN of training in this way.

If you don’t like @MatScouts1 you do not understand that personality grows sports.
We need competing personalities. Willie isn’t afraid to throw shade, stir things up, and say what he thinks. In fact, I think he prefers it. That gives people something to talk about and be angry about. It’s the same reason people like Chael Sonnen and @Jagger712 .
I want less cookie cutter in wrestling. I hate seeing it on all levels from athlete interviews, coaches, coverage. I want more theatrics… I want John Daly version of wrestling.
It’s why I’m excited about what @Gorilla_Blanco has brewing—ideas completely different from anything I’ve seen in our sport.
More personality. More originality. More people willing to be themselves.
We need more different!!!!
