Please don't take this feeling away from me. UCLA has earned this advantageous position they're in. It's a big deal. But at 24 Oregon's in EASILY, and when the field is released, could have better odds of advancing deep than UCLA. Protect regular season football. #StayAt4

Most people don’t need a higher ceiling. They need to become more consistent at reaching the one they already have.

The most frustrating thing about generating a power rating is that people can't understand this concept. Teams don't play consistently. How often do teams replay each other in the same season with wildly different results? Power ratings are for the next game, not the last one.
Funny you should ask, @JoshPateCFB 👇 RIGHT NOW, Florida would be a 4-point favorite against Mizzou on a neutral field, despite the Tigers' 45-17 H2H win. #GoGators | #MIZ

At the end of the day, as with any metric, the proof is always in the performance. Models are accountable. 41 times in 2026 SP+ has projected a team to beat an opponent who had a better W-L record at game time. 26 times, SP+ prevailed (63.4%). public.tableau.com/app/profi…

The gap between where you are and where you know you can be is rarely closed by knowing more. It’s closed by consistently doing what you already know matters.

I don’t know most of you personally but if you’re a person of faith and pray I could use those prayers right now for my uncle who’s undergoing brain surgery right now. He’s young. The Power of prayer is special and our family could use it right now, thanks

We always argued that a 6-team playoff was needed because, historically, there have been up to 6 teams with a meaningful quality and resume argument for playing in the championship. That didn't justify 12, and certainly not 24.

I’m convinced the people cheerleading for expanded CFB playoffs were not CFB fans 15 years ago. They’re Johnny come lately NFL fans who only started to care about CFB because of the playoffs. If they knew how good we had it pre 2014 they wouldn’t be doing this.

Creating a playoff specifically to manufacture rare upsets instead of putting the very best teams on an even field is stupid btw. The 12-0 team did enough to earn a matchup with another 12-0 or 11-1 team, not some scrub who’s just happy to be there.

CFP leaders are closer than ever to expanding to a 24-team playoff. They are talking buyouts of conference title games and scheduling logistics of doubling the field. Foregone conclusion? “If we can get a decent (TV) deal, we are definitely going to 24.” bit.ly/4jv642P

Elite athletes review their performance without making it personal. Great leaders learn to do the same—study the result, make the adjustment, and get back to work.

CFB rankings should be a measure of resume more than quality, right? So why do we rank teams based on their “ranked wins” if rankings don’t reflect the quality of who they played? No other sport does that. Rank teams on resume. Determine resume based on opponent power ratings.

The analysis shows that removing SEC-affiliated voters (about 1/3 of the panel) leaves the overall AP rankings nearly identical. Texas A&M is the noted exception, rising one spot to #22. The other ranked SEC teams stay essentially the same: Texas #1 Georgia #2 Ole Miss #4 Alabama #8 LSU #10 Tennessee #14 Missouri #19 Florida #21 Mississippi State #24

Another example of why fbs should be at 8 conf games and min of 2 p4 non conf and not isolate behind the conference shield. Not just sec all of them goto 8 and play 1 road and 1 home p4 game.
