A new leadership? Eugene Debs: “If you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out.”

🚨 New 🚨 Carla Lockhart has quit the DUP. The party now has just 4 MPs at Westminster. That’s the lowest number of MPs the main unionist party has had at Westminster since the creation of Northern Ireland.

Helping refugees isn’t fucking woke. The word “refugee” entered English with the Huguenots in the 1680s. In 1914, Britain went to war in defence of “gallant little Belgium” and took in around 250,000 Belgian refugees. Welcoming them was seen as a patriotic duty, with towns and villages across the country raising money and opening their homes. Churchill defended Britain’s tradition of asylum as early as 1904, when he opposed the Aliens Bill, and after WWII he championed a European charter of human rights, which a Conservative lawyer, David Maxwell Fyfe, helped draft. Britain also helped write the 1951 Refugee Convention. In 1972 Ted Heath’s Conservative government welcomed around 28,000 Ugandan Asians expelled by Idi Amin, despite Enoch Powell’s protests, and they have enriched this country ever since. In 2022, under another Tory government, tens of thousands of British households opened their homes to Ukrainians. The winners chose charities that help people fleeing war and persecution. That’s British compassionate generosity. Fuck GB News. Fuck Alex Armstrong. Fuck Steven Barrett. Fuck Charlotte Gill. Fuck Julia Hartey-Brewer. Fuck Paul Marshall. And fuck Nigel Farage. #CelebrityTraitors

Margaret Owen, 94, on her terrorism arrest: ‘I’m afraid I’m not the terrorist. But Israel is a terrorist state, and we are complicit in supporting a terrorist state.’ Britain arrested her twice. Its F-35 parts kept shipping. Labour arrests the witness and protects the weapons.

And around £1bn of the £1.7bn spent on PPE from VIP suppliers was wasted on supplies later deemed unfit to use. This is a huge scandal.

May those who live, work or holiday on top of this have nightmares about what lies beneath them. May they imagine the cries of the dying and may it keep them awake at night.
The Gaza Strip, Israel are bulldozing it, pouring sand over all the bodies then building on top of it. While the world does nothing.

Couldn't we just ask the banks to repay some of the hundreds of billions we have spent bailing them out after they destroyed the Western economies in 2008?

Last year union membership rose by nearly 200,000. I’m confident new union access rights that come into force today will help open membership to hundreds of thousands more workers. theguardian.com/politics/202…

This is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail. He lives in a massive mansion in the English countryside, but he pays no tax here because he identifies as French. While the Daily Mail is registered in Bermuda and pays no tax anywhere. That is his ‘Patriotism’.

Rupert Lowe and half the right spent weeks calling David Lammy and Kier Starmer corrupt for even looking at the jury system. Same jury system just convicted Tommy Robinson. Suddenly it’s a stitch-up. You don’t care about juries. You care about being permanently aggrieved. Pick a fucking side.

A reminder, When they talk about the national debt, we only paid off the debt for the Napoleonic Wars in 2012, and the debt for the compensation for slave owners in 2016. What politicians tell you about economics is usually bobbins.

As the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is launched today beware of the ‘Poppy Nazis’. These traitorous pro-Nazi turds slither among us under false colours. They are pissing on the graves of the Allied war dead and monuments. #NeverAgain #PoppyAppeal

We've waited patiently for a plan to end neoliberalism. We won't wait anymore. We need rent controls We need a wealth tax We need *serious* cuts to energy bills Instead it's a few pence off gherkins & a payout which the experts say won't touch the sides on energy bills.

There’s already been an independent review of the evidence by twelve people. We call it a jury.
Tommy Robinson was convicted today on a 10 to 2 jury majority. Like him or not, everyone deserves a fair process. This petition just asks for an independent review of the evidence. Please sign and share 👇 c.org/pmGCGBckkP @TRobinsonNewEra @careovercost

Whose side are you on @andyburnham ? US hedge funds or Thames Water households? Why should 16 million people pay an extra £40 on interest alone for a bailout when you can write down Thames Water's debt RIGHT NOW by taking it into special administration? theguardian.com/business/202…

Abolish Tuition Fees. • Students past & present owe £300 billion in student loans • An average of £50,000 per person • Growing at an interest rate of 4-6% a year • Even though people pay on average back £1,200 a year. It is a scam. It is unsustainable.
