IPOB Announces Mandatory Online Leadership and Members Training
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the first phase of what it describes as the grand finale of its first-ever leaders and members training.
A flyer issued under the banner of “IPOB ZOO NIGERIA in collaboration with the DOS” states that the training, adjusted to two parts, will hold on Sunday, 25 October and Saturday, 31 October 2026. The sessions are scheduled for 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm Biafra Time and are declared mandatory for all IPOB members. National, regional, state, zonal, local government, and unit coordinators have been directed to ensure their members attend. IPOB says a link for the online venue will be circulated.
Mazi Tony Nzurumike (DHOD) is listed as the resource person for the 25 October session. The topics to be covered are the founders and formation of IPOB, and the challenges, persecutions, arrests, torture, death, and detention of IPOB members and Igbo youths. The training is proudly supported by the Directorate of State (DOS) led by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem.

Judicial Integrity in Nigeria: When Will Warnings Translate into Accountability?
Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun’s recent warning against judicial manipulation, forum shopping and the misuse of ex parte orders raises important questions about Nigeria’s commitment to justice, particularly when the Federal Government itself is involved in litigation.
In 2017, the government obtained an ex parte order proscribing IPOB without the organisation being heard beforehand. In October 2022, the Court of Appeal discharged Mazi Nnamdi Kanu following findings concerning his unlawful rendition from Kenya, only for another panel of the same court to suspend that judgment at the government's request. The Supreme Court subsequently permitted his prosecution to continue despite acknowledging the illegality surrounding his rendition.
As an Advocate for Human Consciousness, I believe these events deserve serious constitutional examination because the credibility of any judicial system depends on its willingness to hold the state to the same legal standards it imposes on citizens.
The Chief Justice’s warning is welcome, but Nigerians deserve to know how these principles are being applied to politically sensitive cases, including those involving Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafran detainees whose fundamental rights and access to justice remain matters of concern.
Justice must be measured by the fairness of its application, not merely by the authority of those who pronounce it. But the Kakistocratic government of Nigeria cannot allow fairness, can they?

APC Boycott Call, Detainee Allegations and Kanu Court Questions in Focus
Monday, 26 October 2026
A new political directive attributed to a Directorate of State structure associated with IPOB is calling on supporters to withdraw from APC rallies, mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.
The distinction is important:
peacefully refusing to support a political party is not the same as preventing other citizens from voting or campaigning.
Political participation must remain voluntary.
The same Directorate structure has also rejected an audio message claiming that compulsory Monday sit-at-home enforcement has returned across the South-East.
It says neither its leadership nor ESN authorised renewed enforcement.
The origin of the audio remains unverified.
This matters because schools, markets, hospitals, transport operators and workers should not be disrupted by unauthenticated threats.
On Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, new claims have been raised about the failure to list his appeal and a reportedly unavailable court file connected with separate detention litigation.
These are serious allegations.
But they require confirmation through official court records.
Another major allegation concerns 68 detained Biafrans reportedly transferred from Wawa Barracks to Kuje, Keffi and Suleja.
That claim has been reported but has not been independently confirmed through correctional-service records.
The priority should now be to establish each detainee’s identity, location, legal status and access to a lawyer.
Meanwhile, SERAP has taken the Federal Government to the ECOWAS Court over approximately ₦78.8 billion in questioned cash-transfer expenditure.
The lawsuit does not prove that the funds were stolen.
The court must determine the claims.
Nigeria’s election campaign is also intensifying.
The NDC has announced a National Campaign Council involving Henry Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Across AlaIgbo:
Abia faces a fresh candidate-nomination dispute while celebrating young students recognised for international debating achievement.
Imo is investigating five suspects allegedly connected with the kidnapping of prospective NYSC members.
Ebonyi continues to face concerns over political violence and internal party disputes.
Anambra has announced another major security arrest while a community leadership dispute in Ndiowu raises questions about local governance.
Enugu has seen a community endorse Tinubu and Governor Mbah while also calling for Kanu’s release—showing that political opinion across AlaIgbo cannot be reduced to a single category.
Today’s central message is clear:
Political protest must remain voluntary.
Civilian life must be protected.
Court allegations require evidence.
Detainee cases require accurate records.
And:
Peaceful self-determination gains credibility when it respects the freely expressed political choices and human dignity of the people concerned.

Nigeria Enters Full Election Campaign as Electoral Transparency and Political Safety Come Under Scrutiny
Sunday, 25 October 2026
President Bola Tinubu has formally launched his 2027 re-election campaign in Kaduna.
Nigeria is now entering a more intense election period ahead of the presidential vote on 16 January 2027.
But the campaign begins amid serious questions about electoral transparency, security and household economic pressure.
Yiaga Africa’s Samson Itodo has challenged INEC over the preliminary voters’ register, arguing that the Electoral Act requires public inspection both physically and online.
INEC says physical display occurred.
The unresolved question is whether the online requirement was also satisfied.
That matters because citizens must be able to verify the records determining who can vote.
On Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his appeal remains the principal legal process challenging his November 2025 conviction.
No new substantive Court of Appeal ruling changing his position was established today.
Across AlaIgbo:
Imo: the ADC has launched its campaign in Owerri, with Emeka Ihedioha calling for greater accountability, local government autonomy and development.
Anambra: police have arrested a suspect following the recovery of the remains of 23-year-old Mmesoma Umeorini. The allegations remain subject to trial.
Anambra police are also attempting to prevent escalation of an internal Anglican Communion dispute.
Ebonyi: investigation continues into the deadly attack on an opposition candidate’s convoy.
Enugu: the fatal police shooting of entertainer Izuchukwu Nnaji remains under investigation.
Nigeria’s proposed State Police reform has already reached the required state-legislature threshold, but operational State Police do not yet exist.
And nationally, casualty figures from the Taraba attack remain disputed, with police and Amnesty International reporting very different totals.
Today’s central message is simple:
Elections require transparency.
Political participation requires protection.
Police power requires accountability.
And:
AlaIgbo’s future must be shaped through democratic consent, truthful information and institutions that protect human dignity.
