Seven years ago, we took a revolutionary approach to tackling violence affecting young people. Tough on crime, but also tough on tackling its complex causes. Since then, my @LDN_VRU has helped prevent violence before it happens, investing in young people through mentoring, sport, music and targeted support. And recently, we celebrated a major milestone: one million Londoners reached. During this time, hospital admissions of young people for knife assaults have been driven down by 55%. There’s still more to do, but one thing is clear: we can’t simply arrest our way out of crime. We must invest in young people, giving them the opportunities and support they deserve. That’s how we build a safer, fairer London for everyone.

This is Curtis Yarvin. The so-called philosopher of the ‘dark enlightenment’ & acolyte of Peter Thiel coming at me for writing about Jason Arday. And here he is with Nathan Cofnas, the man who framed the UK media’s coverage of Arday. Can you see him now?
Yes all of you need to lose your jobs. Sorry. Ok I’m actually not sorry. But please don’t kill yourself. Amnesty is beautiful. Everyone gets amnesty. Have you heard of “truth and reconciliation” Carole

A standing ovation for 50 years of the National Theatre. It has challenged us, moved us, made us laugh, and brought millions together through the power of storytelling. An honour to join its anniversary celebrations on the South Bank.

📉 55% fewer young people in hospital following knife assaults since 2019. 📉 12,500 fewer victims of violence with injury since the VRU began. W are seeing progress, but there is still more to do to keep young people safe. Watch the interview 👇 youtube.com/watch?v=3YSC9BTS…

If opportunity doesn't knock, create it. Black Tech Fest is a powerful reminder of what we stand to gain when we break down barriers and champion diverse talent. Technology should be shaped by people from every background, for a future where everyone can belong.

Last year Lambeth Labour helped over 200 people off the streets. Today our Labour Government is doubling rough sleeping funding and committing to ending it for good.

Number 10 North is driving the largest devolution of power to London's communities we've seen in a generation. By granting London the ability to invest potentially billions of pounds more in our future, it will help unlock transformational infrastructure projects such as the West London Orbital, the Bakerloo line extension and Euston knowledge quarter. A true devolution revolution. cityam.com/london-to-get-bak…

I've learned as much from setbacks as I have from success. In Esquire's What I've Learned series, I reflect on the lessons that have shaped me, from dealing with disappointment and leading London to the importance of family, faith, resilience and public service.
