Scrap the Hunan Rights Tribunal
It’s a kangaroo court
Last year in Ontario, a male bus driver showed up to work like this — mini skirt, frilly blouse, and nylons — and called his bus the "Lolita Line." He was dismissed. Now, he's pursuing a human rights complaint for anti-trans discrimination. My column:

22 units in construction right now.
27 units starting construction in November.
123 units starting construction in 2027.
Let's put brick on more buildings!
Excited to see this come to Toronto.
Long overdue.
We need a public sector that prioritizes competence above virtue signalling.
Let’s do Ontario next.

All Canadians should be treated equally.

This is the wrong message.
Broaden your appeal when signing up new members.
Engage everyday Canadians into the process.
Lead them towards a winning message and set of ideas.
A party that is set up to ignore its members is not durable.
Arguably, this is what the last few months in BC have taught us.
KLF won with 51% on the 4th ballot. Hardly a resounding endorsement.
She chose to alienate the membership that supported other candidates.
In doing so, she shrunk her inner circle to a group that did not reflect the membership at all.
Lorne was able to rebuild by reflecting what were the consensus views among members, and broaden his appeal to everyday British Columbians.
93.5% of Canada is now governed by provincial governments who want more power and autonomy from Ottawa.
Let’s start talking about rebalancing power in confederation towards provincial capitals.
(BC, AB, SK, ON, QC, NL, NS, Y)
7 conservative governments across the country.
And a government in Quebec in favour of more autonomy, and an ascending Conservative Party.
Is now the time to start talking about rebalancing confederation in favour of the provinces, away from the Feds.
We should shift tax points (personal and corporate) away from Ottawa towards provincial capitals.
The federal government’s power comes primarily from its ability to transfer tax dollars with strings attached.
Time to cut some strings.
A Conservative government elected in B.C. is the perfect follow up to the separatists losing in Alberta.
Alberta and B.C. will revive optimism in this country.
The election outcome in BC last night is evidence that Canadians want common sense conservative solutions, but without the angry self-righteous packaging of some leaders.
Turns out @LDoerkson was the right guy for the moment.
Congrats to the team who made that happen.
The promise of universal healthcare falls apart when ppl whose lives are at risk can’t get access to the available care they need.
Alex Shved and Sabrina Apitz-Grossman are both fighting for their lives.
Their stories should force an overdue debate on healthcare reform, and how to live up to the promise of “universal” care.
An entire healthcare system built on the principle of scarcity and triage will undoubtedly cost lives.
We are a wealthy province living in the most prosperous period in history.
We need a healthcare system that can deliver abundant care.
Saving money vs. saving lives.
Cancer patients are questioning the Ford government’s motive and rationale for denying them out of country coverage for treatment that’s unavailable in Ontario

Tough political decision, but this is largely the consequence of terrible energy policy under Wynne and McGuinty who locked the province into incredibly expensive long term solar and wind power contracts that we’re still paying for today.
‘Bitter pill to swallow’: Ford government to cut electricity bill support next month thetrillium.ca/insider-news/… via @Thetrilliumca
I'm excited about this.
But this is also a good time to start talking about road tolling and congestion pricing.
The politics make this difficult to apply to human drivers, but there should not constituency opposed to congestion pricing applied exclusively to autonomous vehicles.
Fleets of autonomous cars will represent a large percentage of road use in 10 years.
We may as well start monetizing this now.
We’re bringing the magic of Waymo to Toronto! 🇨🇦
In the coming days, you’ll begin seeing Waymo’s all-electric vehicles driving through Toronto’s streets as we lay the groundwork for our ride-hailing service.
Our goal is to begin serving riders in 2028.

We should NOT nationalize Stelco.
The only way to make our Steel Industry even less competitive is to put the government in charge of it.
Earlier today, I wrote to Doug Ford, asking him to work with the Prime Minister on a plan for public ownership of Stelco. We don’t make this call lightly, but this is a unique moment in our history. One that demands bold, ambitious, and urgent action. We must put ideology aside and put Ontario workers first.
Ontario cannot stand on the sidelines while our industrial capacity is dismantled. Inaction has already resulted in hundreds of layoffs across the province. If we wait any longer, we don't just risk losing good-paying, unionized jobs, but also decades of expertise and industrial capacity.
The best time to act has passed. The second-best time is now. Doug Ford needs to put his money where his mouth is and protect good Ontario jobs.
Get rid of Toronto’s LAND TRANSFER TAX
The province should take this revenue tool away from the City and allow young families to afford their first home.
Imagine if we could create a childcare system where every family in need got support for childcare, but where families earning >$500k were not eligible for that support.
I don’t know when that became a conservative viewpoint.
Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?
