Mr Kat — Krocco

I’ve been meeting new people around here lately, so I figured I should properly introduce myself. I’m an IP creator specialized in 3D. I also direct and art direct. Over the years I’ve worked with all kinds of brands and clients, including Nike, Apple, Instagram and Facebook, who reached out for my distinctive style. The project that shaped most of my path was Mr. Kat & Friends. It started as a personal space to learn 3D and character design, and eventually became the work that opened doors to great reps, festivals I always looked up to, and later the bigger clients. More than anything, it taught me how important it is to build a real body of work instead of constantly jumping between styles.

Tweaking the blend shapes before locking in the expressions. Be honest, keeper or drop it? And if we keep it, what would you call it? I’m thinking “Botched.” 🤔

Krocco is all about duality. Chill, but also ambitious and locked in. There’s a darker side I’ve been planning too. Deep in the swamp, strange creatures, black magic and ancient spirits. All mixed with Krocco’s cheeky humor. The reactions I’m seeing make me want to explore it further. I love that Krocco can stay chill through adversity while living somewhere between everyday reality and a deeper, mystical world. There’s more to the swamp than meets the eye.

If your eyes don’t widen, your heart doesn’t race, and your mind doesn’t start planning combinations when you see Krocco, I’ll have failed. I’ve been here before. I know that feeling. And I want you to feel it again.

Lots of artists out there working just as hard. Some succeed, some don’t. On my end, I think my art is there. Expressing who I am and connecting with others is where I still have work to do. Honestly, that makes me optimistic. This space is a great place to put myself out there and connect.

Eyes are the window to the swamp. 👀🐊 Look closer.

Krocco’s the kind of character who’ll find something to smile about when everything’s falling apart. He’s cheeky, resilient and chill, all at once. Those different sides make his personality richer, and give people room to see a bit of themselves in him. Then comes collectibility. The collection is structured around themes (Chill, Worn, Heat, Cold), color palettes and combinations. Each explores a different side of his personality. You can be burnt out and still have fire in you. Beat up but still here and smiling. Colder than your ex’s heart but still be a friend when shit hits the fan. Krocco was born in this space. A space full of iconic imagery, personalities and references. I’ve soaked it all in during my time here, and Krocco is what came out.
