Sources: Dominican LHP Jefry Yan (29) has been promoted by the New York Mets, per sources.

On its face, that trade is an absolute disgrace for the Tigers. River Ryan instead of Emmet Sheehan entirely changes the scope of what the Dodgers gave up. In my opinion, a light package to give the back-to-back World Series Champions a Cy Young award winner.

David Stearns on if he put Carlos Mendoza in a position to succeed:
“I think that when you look at our record right now, this is not where we want to be. We all came into the season believing we were going to have a better year. I thought we were going to have a better year. Our players thought we were going to have a better year. Certainly Mendy thought we were going to have a better year. We haven’t.”
On how much of the failures are put on Carlos Mendoza:
“This is never on one person. It’s certainly not all on Carlos. As I said earlier, I take responsibility for our record on the field, I take responsibility for the entirety of our baseball operations group.”
