NEWS! Govt's confirmed it WILL keep this promise. I've got a statement from Minister for Pensions @TorstenBell:
“In line with the commitment made at Budget 2025, pensioners who only just the exceed the personal allowance will not have the administrative burden of paying small amounts of tax in this Parliament.
“The chancellor will set out further details on how that commitment will be delivered at the Budget.”
News! From 2027, the full new state pension will be higher than the tax-free allowance, so tax is due. The Chancellor had said people wouldn’t need to do assessments, but on my show tonight, Rachel Reeves said, they won’t pay tax at all this parliament. Watch the full show & budget interview on itv.com/watch/the-martin-lew…
PS I asked the Chancellor after that… ‘what about those edge-cases who earn just a tiny bit elsewhere like small private pensions?’ she said they won’t be included in this and thus will pay tax.
Can anyone out there know what type of insect this is #insectexpert @davidattenborough #davidattenborogh #entomologist?

Just a rant to @StagecoachEMid what happened to the number 6 bus from Hull interchange at 17.12pm, full queue of people waiting for 30mins and still no show or even the next at 17.42pm, no one around to ask, what a shambles 🤬

#allswellthatendswell after the disappointing service from @IKEAUK @IKEASupportUK about our order and delivery being moved to 29th December, we took a drive across to #IKEALEEDS and Angela N sorted all what we wanted and had it delivered last Sunday, all put together that day

I am not happy 🥺 and fuming 😡, we ordered in plenty of time for Christmas and expected delivery this weekend. I could understand a couple of weeks delay but NOT 2 months, surely people who have ordered weeks ago have a priority delivery?
When you've been waiting 6 weeks for @IKEAUK to deliver wardrobe/drawer unit's and the weekend before you dispose of old one's ready for delivery, you get a txt/email 5days before, to say it will now be delivered 29th December, it's not a good situation to be in.
Afternoon @hulltruck with @maggieh838 to see #turnandfacethedtrange the story of Mick Ronson excellent show great music and reference to David Bowie
