Pretty incredible datapoint
Since USAID was dismantled, the left has not won a single election in Latin America, by the way.

If you’re wondering why gun laws don’t stand up anymore this cartoon I shamelessly stole from someone long ago helps catch you up on some of the government’s buffoonery on behalf of liberals

The Federalist wasn’t only a defense of a strong national government. It proposed an extraordinarily powerful executive — the President — with powers in many ways comparable to those of the British king. The liberals of those days saw this office as a betrayal of the revolution.
It’s weird how often I encounter functional libertarians who claim to stand upon the Federalist Papers- which are an extended apologia not just for central government but for transferring the people’s affections away from the states toward it. They obviously haven’t read them. Who was more correct? Was it Federalist John Jay in Federaliat No 3: “When once an efficient national government is established, the best men in the country will not only consent to serve, but also will generally be appointed to manage it.” Or anti-Federalist George Clinton who prophesies the federal city “would be the asylum of the base, idle, avaricious and ambitious.”

Most therapists are worse than useless. The vast majority are liberal women who don’t possess the life experience, wisdom, or moral or intellectual foundation to offer worthwhile guidance to anyone (especially men). Most of them got into the therapy business in the first place because they have their own deep mental problems. Now they’re acting as life guides for other confused people, despite being no less confused themselves. But even in the relatively rare circumstance where a therapist isn’t a weird, dysfunctional person, still the practice of therapy presupposes that the best way to deal with your problems and “traumas” is to obsessively talk about them, which is almost always not the case. You’re better off going to the gym or going for a jog. I know this is hard for people in our culture to understand, but “talking it out” is actually not the way to solve your problems most of the time. There’s a reason why most people in therapy stay in it forever. Therapy creates repeat customers. This is intentional. It’s a symbiotic relationship. The therapist needs her clients to come back so the business is viable. The clients want to come back because they have a narcissistic desire to talk about themselves and navel gaze in lieu of actually doing anything to take charge of their own lives.

“Some therapists”. Which could mean literally 3-4 out of thousands. Matt Walsh takes that and extrapolates it to the entire institution of therapy. What a dork.

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

The evidence against Tyler Robinson is overwhelming: • Surveillance video places him near the scene. • His trace DNA was found on the rifle. • His trace DNA was on the towel wrapped around it. • His trace DNA was on the screwdriver recovered near the rooftop firing position. • He left a note stating that he intended to “take out” Charlie Kirk. • He admitted the shooting in messages to Twiggs. • The casings carried political and personal messages. • One called Kirk a “fascist.” • Two quoted the anti-fascist anthem “Bella Ciao.” • One referenced an airstrike from a video game, and Robinson was a known gamer. • Another appeared to reference the sexualized furry community, which Robinson was reportedly part of. • Another read “LMAO.” • Twiggs said Robinson used a Dremel tool to engrave the ammunition. Taken together, the prosecution has the whole case: who did it, how he did it, and why. You can try to explain away one fact. Explaining away DNA, surveillance, personalized ammunition, political messaging, and a confessions is much harder.

Hey, who would call Donald Trump the anti-Christ, host a series of Hamas sympathizers and Nazi stans, praise Maduro and the Iranian mullahs, simp for Vladimir Putin, and promote conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's death...all while selling Indian-made nicotine pouches?
Hey, who would defend the killing of children in Gaza?

Listen guys. Don’t shoot the messenger, but the stats don’t lie. The Novus Ordo is not invalid or evil, but it’s also not doing the best job of feeding the sheep. Liturgy does matter.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The TLM statistics reflect surveys of attendees at Latin Mass parishes while the Novus Ordo statistics reflect surveys of all self-identified Catholics, not comparable groups. liturgyguy.com/2019/02/24/nat… firstthings.com/web-exclusives…

I resigned as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of @MCC_Budapest . Hungary’s new liberal, Brussels-backed government is determined to dismantle everything that does not serve its political interests. First, in the name of “democracy,” it excluded its main political opponent from democratic competition. It changed the rules so that @PM_ViktorOrban can never again become Prime Minister - even if the Hungarian people choose to elect him. Now it plans to bar long-serving Members of Parliament from standing for election, while threatening the President of the Republic and attempting to remove him through a one-sentence constitutional amendment simply because he refuses to follow the government’s political line. The same campaign is now being waged against non-government-affiliated educational institutions and non-liberal civil society. The government knows their measures cannot withstand constitutional scrutiny, so they are rewriting the Constitution to shield them. What they are effectively doing is nationalizing these foundations. Those they cannot nationalize, they will simply deprive of their funding. @MCC_Budapest is an extraordinary institution. Over the past years, thousands of talented students, outstanding colleagues, and a truly global network have helped strengthen Hungary’s reputation around the world. With more than 8,000 students, free education, 30 locations, and countless distinguished international speakers and events, MCC has become one of Central Europe’s leading educational and think tank communities. I cannot stand by while this work is being dismantled. I opposed these measures until the very last moment in Parliament, and after that I resigned as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MCC. Political power cannot erase what we have built, and they will never silence us. The work of rebuilding starts now. Hungary’s national conservative movement is stronger than any temporary government - and it will endure. This will be my most important mission in the years ahead.

What happened to my bank account? Absolutely nothing. You believed a lie. You believed a lie that was told to you by your political class, and your news media, to keep you from asking uncomfortable questions about how much you are paying in tax, where that money is going, and what quality of care you actually receive for the portion of it they didn't steal. Don't believe me? Look at the pictures. Look. At. Them. That's my wife, @acrobatichobbit. Before and after. That's a five centimeter mass. Stage 4 metastatic melanoma. The worst kind of cancer, the most vicious form of assassin your own body can betray you with. That bright area? Blood. Ten years ago, anywhere in the world, the scan on the left is a death sentence... an endless gauntlet of painful surgeries, followed by chemotherapy, hair loss, uncontrolled vomiting, wasting away to nothing, death. In America, today, it's not. We have things here. Genetic therapies. Tailored viruses that attack tumor cells. Drugs that highlight cancers for your immune system, drag them kicking and screaming into the spotlight to be killed. I won't tell you about her exact course of treatment, because that's none of your goddamned business, but I will tell you that it cost American drug companies and medical researchers a fortune to discover. A fortune that your nation cannot afford because you chose socialism instead of progress. And socialism, however fine-sounding in theory, simply does not work. Were she and I British, living in Britain, relying on the National Health Service, I would be a widower now. Did saving her cost a ruinous amount of money? Yes. This technology was expensive to create, and the people who did so deserve to pay their mortgages and feed their kids. So do the oncologists and surgeons. Many of the men who cared for her were old men, experienced men, long past retirement age, still working because when your profession is clawing souls back from the void, sitting on a beach with a pina colada instead just doesn't hit the same. They deserve every cent. Did saving her cost a ruinous amount of money? Yes. Did I pay it? No. Because believe it or not, when things are ruinously expensive, but vitally necessary, we here in America come up with ways to deal with that. Ways that don't involve creating a big pot of money and entrusting it to corrupt slimeballs. We have insurance. And sometimes insurance isn't cheap, but the bite it takes is a hell of a lot less of what we have than the tax man takes from you. And insurance companies sometimes have to make hard decisions about which spending choices will save the most people. I know about this in detail, because that is my wife's profession. She creates the mathematical models that pay for all this stuff. The insurance that saved her is the exact same plan that she provides to others. And at the end of an awful year and a half of treatment, awful because cancer medicines make you far sicker than the cancer itself... We were left whole. Battered and wounded in spirit, but financially whole, at least. The only loss we took was the blow to my career as a novelist, because it turns out you can't write stories while your wife is dying, and you don't automatically recover that ability afterwards. Not right away. I wondered every day if she was going to live or die. I wondered every day what the hell I was going to with myself without her. But I never wondered, not for a moment, how the hell we were going to pay for all this. Your government doesn't solve the problem. It is the problem. They lie to you.

Because it’s what they believe. The French Revolutionaries opened the prisons. So did Lenin. The cruelty is the point. The destruction of society is the point.
In all seriousness, how the hell did prison abolition become a thing on the left?

Never forget that “Juneteenth” started in 2020 because race communists weaponized an obscure holiday to cancel Trump’s Tulsa rally and call us racist for not knowing what it was (nobody did). Anyone remember that? They said Trump was invoking the Tulsa Race Riots by holding a rally on the same day of an unrelated Texas holiday. It was one of their many ploys to “borrow” the 2020 Election. Then, everyone during 2021 Peak Woke just forced a federal holiday into existence. All but 8 Republicans voted for it, even. We don’t remember how bad things used to be. Peak Woke now feels like a fever dream, but this was real, and we shouldn’t forget it. It will return quickly if the right doesn’t value victory.

Trump is right. -In 1948, Truman recognized Israeli independence 11 minutes after it was declared. -In 1973, the US resupplied the IDF with 22,395 tons of war materials. -Trump withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 and reimposed sanctions on Iran. -From 1946-2024, the US has given Israel $244B in military aid. I care about a nation being grateful and understanding that they have to fall in line with us, not the other way around.

"The Lincoln Memorial is hallowed ground."
I I’ll never forgive people who voted for Trump. This is on them. The Lincoln Memorial is hallowed ground. Where our greatest president, who gave his life to end slavery, is commentated. Where the Gettysburg Address is written. We live as graffiti now.

A man working as a welder at SpaceX for $28 an hour has just become a millionaire. Juan Hernandez, who came from Mexico, welded rockets for SpaceX at $28 an hour. SpaceX gave him $10,000 in stock when he went full time in 2015, and he bought more with every paycheck for 10 years. $SPCX is now trading at $167, making his shares worth over $1 million.

This “psy-op” stuff has become such a ridiculous cope. Many of us lived through the OJ trial. There is a long and very well established precedent of large swaths of the black community tribally supporting black killers who are clearly guilty. I know it’s troubling to think about but it’s real. Face it. Deal with it. Not everything is a conspiracy by shadowy government actors. Some things are actually real. This is real. Sorry.
