they believe knowledge about transition is a nuclear neurological cognitohazard that "makes" one trans by force, like the enigma of amigara fault. demonic possession through data. they believe that if information didn't exist, nobody would want to transition in the first place
I'm convinced that transphobes have zero clue what grooming even is. How is someone saying "It's okay if you want to transition, and it's also okay if you don't want to, the choice is yours. I'm here for you either way" grooming in any way?

Cool how I literally had a story in my mind when I was in middle school that went like: "me and everyone I know gets a new body, I get a girl's body while everyone else gets whatever they already are." and I didn't even know trans people EXISTED.

Yes, that's super common in trans people, even bereft of any knowledge at all. Here's more examples from children even before the internet: medium.com/@TransEssays/conv…

Society that has 10 year olds start playing tackle football thinks puberty blockers for 14 year olds crosses the line becuase of possible long term health effects. A 10 year old can consent to CTE and a variety of other long term issues, but not to a reversible medication.

There are legitimately many parents who gave their kids HGH and testosterone injections, while the child was a minor, and without even telling them what the medicine was. Zero consent, all to "beef them up". But they would be against HRT because, well, it's grooming!

well it's fitting since many reactionaries are reppers

"I convinced a child that transition was a completely normal and acceptable thing to do" reads a lot like "I convinced a child sex with an adult was a completely etc etc". Grooming is the slow process of changing a vulnerable person's opinions to suit the groomer

Who convinced you to believe that

this isn't entirely unreasonable because cognitohazards like that do actually exist, ie. eating disorders.

I know about EDs and yet I don't have one. cognitohazards are not real

It actually is alot like demon possession. Basically changing who you are fundamentally till your unrecognizable, secret names that have power over you, and the fake names you use are always named after demons (Lillian, morrigan, stuff like that)

They also believe this with gays, and anyone slightly queer; they're focused on trans because it isn't advisable to say it about anyone but trans these days. Which is why you can't give them an inch, letting trans get destroyed, as they will then come for the gays next.

Yeah you’re dealing with people who genuinely think “Sissy Hypno” is a real thing that works

they believe this is how all ideology works because young right-wingers genuinely only adopted their beliefs because they were oneshot by image macros and thought-terminating cliches like 1350 or swimming pools at auschwitz

It's the same dumbass logic that if you're not taught sex ed growing up, you're magically gonna grow up celibate and responsible.

The alt-right spreads exactly the way that right-wingers describe anything queer. Completely disconnected from beliefs any human being could independently think and feel, spread through grooming and coercive arguments meant to make the target ruin their life for external gain.

I've been making exactly this argument (with the amigara fault reference) about how conservatives are disposed towards left-coded texts for a decade. It's another expression of their central motivating passion (crippling insecurity).

This is how reactionaries view information about a lot of topics, specifically the ones where learning factual information undermines their narrow belief system.

It's always fascinating isn't it, cause by that logic they all want to transition Repressed people be evil sometimes

i have the most simplistic take on this in that i grew up with an undiagnosed illness and i'd have been ecstastic if someone told me about it while young and how to fix it. genuinely life changing. ideally a proffessional but anyone would have worked. so i use the same logic.
