I had a moment today.
I was speeding along the 401 to a speaking engagement when I passed a livestock trailer.
A calf looked through the holes at me.
I cried.
I haven’t eaten beef in over 30 years. Or lamb. Or pork.
Christ.
We Canadians do not fuck around.
I have had dogs before.
But this dog, this beautiful, loving, silly boy has captured my heart. All of it. Well OK, there’s a little slice for the grandkids.
I would cover his body with mine to save his life.
He sleeps with me.
I miss him when I am not with him

Here was my day in the 6iX:
I drove in last night to speak at a conference this morning.
I do a lot of conferences. Most organizers book me a hotel room, this one did not. I booked through Expedia. Hotels right downtown are now $1,000 a night. /1
So now… I CANNOT FIND MY CAR IN ALL OF DOWNTOWN. And even if I could find the lot, I was never gonna remember where in that concrete hectare my car was parked.
