Fantastic alternative to flame tests and spectra today.
Ions mixed with ethanol, few drops on a sugar cube, then light. Burns for longer so easier for students to see spectra.

I have a box of physics thanks to @RadleyPhysics for original idea. Mostly I use the different balls, bits of string, balloons and various toy cars.
As for walls I've just put up @fabdisalvo root words which the kids are totally fascinated by

Paint. (Seriously, I'm not sure posters/displays help that much).

Less flippantly.
Don't do the whole practical the whole time. If it's a measuring skill focus on that, if the analysis is interesting then try it a bit, then give them results then focus on analysis. Same for graphs.
If you do it all everytime you can't focus on any of it.

Adam Boxer’s slow practical blog is great advice. Really focus on the detail of the set up, a little bit at a time. Quiz them on each stage before saying “go” and getting the stuff #chatphysics

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. RT if you agree 🌳

Q3: How do you help your students revise for physics exams?
Does this start early with recall activities? 🙋♀️
Do you have any secrets to effective revision? 📚🤯

For specific latent heat I mention Joseph Black who also discovered Carbon Dioxide!

When the topic is new, I love to tell a story about a famous figure just to give some historical context. Mainly I love using stories to illustrate a point or to spice up a sometimes not so ✨exciting✨ topic.

Personally, I think we should. The Coulomb Train Model can help students visualise what's going on:

Series circuits

And an alt perspective that may be helpful
