Oh Busi Lurayi was a brilliant actor! I remember watching her in a play, Frontiers at the Market Theatre. She was so so brilliant, such an intuitive and intelligent actor. May she continue to rest in peace

#LGBTQI+ICONS – BEVERLEY PALESA DITSIE
Beverley Palesa Ditsie (born 1971) is a dedicated South African lesbian activist, artist, and filmmaker. Did you know she co-founded the Gay and Lesbian Organization of Witwatersrand?
Ditsie played a pivotal role in organizing South Africa's first Pride March, which took place in Johannesburg in 1990, inspired by Simon Nkoli's experiences in America.
Today, she advocates for inclusivity, raising concerns about the cultural and racial divides among LGBTQIA+ people in South Africa. #LGBTQIIcons #PrideMonth #LGBTQIAdvocates #LGBTQIRights #LGBTQICommunity

Ka nnete? Samora Machel wa FRELIMO? The same one who supported the anti-apartheid struggle, gave refuge to combatants and was killed for it by the apartheid regime in SA? The same Samora Machel? The one MamMiriam Miriam spoke of in “Aluta Continua”? That one?

Brazil’s election is likely the most unfollowed global event. Do you like breathing oxygen? Then you should care who wins next week, bc one guy wants you to keep breathing and the other wants to burn trees
Brazil registered the lowest Amazon deforestation rate on record over the past year, allowing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to claim success on a key issue that’s been at the center of his platform bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

It’s South African Pride month. On October 13th in 1990, GLOW led by Simon Nkoli and hundreds of brave queer people marched so we could have queer rights. Not forgetting @bevditsie and your continuous efforts in fighting for queer rights throughout the years! Happy Pride 🏳️🌈🇿🇦
