I'm heading in to my thirteenth year of teaching and I've been wholly inefficient in my planning for twelve years.
I've written, designed, rewritten and redesigned lessons for each lesson I've taught over those years.

I should have concluded, of course, that the process has shown, at least for GCSE Maths, that teachers have been able to provide CAGs which have been honest and accurate and that’s a huge testament to everyone’s professionalism. We’ll hear no teacher bashing about this!

If Gavin Williamson was your NQT mentor, he’d forget to turn up to observe the lesson you spent ages planning, despite knowing about it for 2wks. On your end of term assessment, he’d give detailed feedback on your teaching based on the 5 minute learning walk he did 3 months ago.

They put their book under the visualiser, I give them feedback and then they edit their work!
The table is then fully cleaned before the next child comes along 🤣 ✍🏻
