This is our situation in Gaza now: everyone ignores our suffering. This is an unjust world, devoid of mercy or humanity. Because of this harsh life—enduring bombardment, the cold, and flooding—I find myself wishing for death with every passing minute.😥 #Gaza

“MK ultra victims”
Isn’t this sort of scary? Why do these people who are so passionately progressive and in such vehement opposition to the Israeli government appear like MK ultra victims when asked if they want a right wing Zionist in charge of their party?

I don’t know. It feels obscenely stupid to start posting videos of my loved ones in Gaza right now, as their tents flood with rainwater in the middle of the night, as they sleep in damp clothes on soaked mattresses, and to think for a f*cking second that these images might move someone to save their babies, to protect what little dignity they have left. As if this time could be any different from last year, or the year before that, or the year before that. As if people around the world, especially those with the power to do something, might suddenly be moved by a family’s tent flooding with rainwater when the sight of hundreds of babies whose bodies were shredded by Israeli bombs was not enough to put an end to this. How many more times must we expose the suffering of the people we love, strip them of their privacy in their most vulnerable moments, in the desperate hope that someone, somewhere, might finally care enough to act?

We “Palestinians” never used to care about American elections. We already knew that whoever came to power would provide Israel with unlimited financial and military support. But today, everything has changed. As Palestinians, we are searching for the tiniest seeds of hope, so infinitesimally small that they are invisible to the naked eye. We are searching for someone who might provide us with food, medicine, and a few pencils and books for children who have grown older without ever knowing what it means to receive an education. We are searching for hope that the genocide that has been unfolding for the past three years will finally be brought to an end. Our hopes for the American elections are modest, almost painfully small. We are like someone who has fallen into a deep well and can see nothing in life but a way out.

Today marked the 70th anniversary of the Khan Yunis Massacre. On November 3, 1956, during the Tripartite Aggression against Egypt, Israeli forces killed hundreds of Palestinians in Khan Yunis. According to figures documented by UNRWA, 275 Palestinians were killed, including 140 refugees and 135 local residents. Just nine days later, another 111 people were reported killed in Rafah, bringing the combined reported death toll to 386. Palestinian survivors described horrifying acts of brutality: Israeli soldiers raiding homes, dragging men into the streets, separating fathers and sons from their families, lining up unarmed civilians against walls, and opening fire with machine guns. Witnesses also described bodies lying in the streets and grieving families unable to bury their loved ones because of military curfews. Palestinian historian Salman Abu Sitta recounts how Israeli soldiers rounded up men from Khan Yunis, including teachers, shopkeepers, farmers, and other ordinary civilians, and marched them toward the historic Barquq Castle. According to his account, soldiers lined the men against a wall near a school, ordered them to jump across a ditch, and opened fire with machine guns, turning the ditch into a grave. Palestinian historian Ihsan Khalil al-Agha documented a higher death toll, estimating approximately 520 victims of executions and other killings during the broader assault and occupation. Survivor testimonies also describe women being left to collect the bodies of their husbands, sons, and brothers and bury them in mass graves. The attached image shows some of the victims.

To those celebrating Democratic wins while claiming solidarity with Palestine: Palestinians are reading your celebrations. The families who buried children killed with weapons the Democratic Party sent are reading your tweets of joy.

Yeah, this is normal Zionist behavior!
Netanyahu’s supporters threaten to send government opponents to “extermination camps.” So much for the “only democracy in the region.” The author of the post below, Tzipi Livni, served as Israel’s foreign minister from 2006 to 2009. During her tenure, Israel waged a 22-day assault on Gaza (December 27, 2008–January 18, 2009), killing more than 1,400 Palestinians. During the offensive, Livni told The Washington Post: “Israel is not going to show restraint anymore.”

The Phoenix Library, which was built as the first library in Gaza during the genocide, needs your support to stay open. It is going through very difficult conditions and facing high operational costs. After students, readers, and poets finally found a sanctuary in Gaza, the library is now on the verge of closing. Please do not deprive them, and do not deprive the children of reading and having a safe space to rest. chuffed.org/project/200344-e…
