It is indeed incredible news! 🎉 Huge congratulations to everyone at @loudounseac , thank you to @Rebecca_Impact @itscarolinecole @LITB_ @JenniAgitator who supported when we rallied and all the dedicated parents and advocates who made this possible! Your work is truly life-changing for disabled children in Loudoun County, VA. Seclusion is banned!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Loudoun County Public Schools has officially BANNED seclusion! Thanks to the champions for kids in Virginia who made this happen. ✊@loudounseac @ICARSBanRandS We were proud to share our work in nearby Fairfax County- seclusion is simply unnecessary and kids deserve better!

This is a balanced and thoughtful explanation of changing publishing guidelines from Sept 2024. I think these are positive changes. 👇🏼

As an ex-Samaritan, I’d like to add that if you’re put off by the idea of talking or find talking difficult, you can still call the Samaritans. Most of the calls I had were silent, but that didn’t mean we didn’t connect. Just being with someone - even in silence - can help.
Remember, you're not alone. Our volunteers are here to listen if you need someone to talk to. 💚
