SNES is my favorite console, but people are too rough on the NES. It has a massive library of not only classics but a lot of fun concepts that were never further explored since.

The SNES is an amazing console, but ultimately I find the NES is what I play 99% of the time.
I think the NES just much more "pick up and play" ready compared to a lot of SNES games.
Both are essential consoles though!
My plan to record a video of the collection for today’s NES vs SNES library discussion was thwarted. Instead, here are fresh pics of the games I picked up from both systems. My NES bias is showing! I’m quite content with this set. Just a few “grail” games missing.
Minor collecting goals can be fun. At various phases during my NES collecting years, I collected the golf games, the pinball games, the Mega Man games, the Tengen games...
It was also fun keeping an eye out for 5-screw cartridges.

New video is LIVE! Nintendo never made an NES CD, so a modder did! 🎃 This Halloween, we’re checking out an incredible add-on that brings CD-quality music and even full-motion video to the original NES. What an awesome glimpse of what might have been!

This feels prophetic of modern politics. People mostly want voices that tell them what they already want to hear, so they gather around politicians, pundits, and influencers who scratch that itch. Truth gets set aside for whatever story feels better in the moment.
Sometimes I like to read my Tyndale Bible because it’s pretty and challenging. The more familiar you are with the story, the easier it is to understand. Happy 500th anniversary to this version!
“Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?” is one of my favorite NES games to own CIB because it has that cool encyclopedia and a big box.

Wow, this is a hard one. The great Patrick Stewart has left this world. Whether it was Captain Picard or Professor Xavier, he brought grace, elegance, and humility to any role he filled. A true legend. He will be missed.

Today I met with my pastor and discussed my concerns that I’m devoting too much of my time, energy, attention, and money toward video games. We decided that a fast from buying and playing games during the month of November would be wise. Of course this would happen right as Ocarina of Time is coming out. Lord, give me strength! 😅
Hera another crazy auction from the same seller for more unlicensed NES carts. ebay.io/m/jyVLiL
Here’s an auction that should interest collectors of unlicensed NES games. Low starting bid, too! ebay.io/m/C77HVK
