War Secretary Pete Hegseth recently removed Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, a senior general responsible for military strategy planning, amid claims he had leaked classified military information. A Pentagon official, who confirmed Sylvia’s removal to The Epoch Times on Oct. 29, said he is suspected of leaking information about the war with Iran, the Russia–Ukraine war, and other matters to members of the press. The Pentagon official said Sylvia failed three polygraphs in which he was questioned about leaking classified information. According to the Pentagon official, the scope of the alleged leaking was of such critical concern that Hegseth sought more immediate action by removing Sylvia. The official did not identify the news stories and reporters that Sylvia is suspected of having supported through information leaks. A first-ever most wanted list has been released by the Labor Department's inspector general. One fugitive, a former FBI official, has already been arrested in Hungary in an alleged $4 million kickback scheme. In total, 16 fugitives are accused of stealing more than $55 million from taxpayers. The alleged crimes include visa fraud, unemployment fraud, labor trafficking and money laundering. Most of the fugitives are believed to be overseas, in Romania, Iran, Nigeria, China and elsewhere. "(Fraud) fuels violent crime...when you're fueling violent crime, you also see so many of these people that are connected to some of our greatest adversaries, whether it's the Chinese Communist Party or whether it's Russia," says Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito.

“Secretary of State Marco Rubio has outlined a sequence of events… making it clear that presidential elections will be held in 2027,” said opposition leader Maria Corina Machado after returning to Venezuela. “I’ve said it before: Elections will be held, all the ones mandated by our Constitution,” said Acting President Delcy Rodriguez. “Who knows, maybe someday soon it will become a prosperous 51st state,” President Trump has said about Venezuela. “This is a country that's recovering from almost a quarter century of trauma, a very deep trauma, and this is the best opportunity Venezuela has had almost in a generation,” said Secretary Rubio.

“Netanyahu finds himself tonight facing a larger and stronger national Zionist majority among the general public,” said candidate for PM and former military chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot after no party reached a majority. “Israel faces a singular historical opportunity, together with our partner President Trump, to remove the existential threat of Iran once and for all,” Israeli PM Netanyahu said to supporters. Arab-led parties could help either of the two leading political blocs gain a majority of seats and form a majority coalition. However, Eisenkot and Netanyahu have indicated that they will not form a coalition with the Arab parties. And until a majority coalition is formed, Netanyahu will serve as caretaker prime minister. Israeli president Isaac Herzog has the responsibility of choosing the leader of the party he thinks has the best chance at forming a majority coalition of parties to form the next government. Herzog says the final election results will arrive next week.
