Nehushtan's Children's Literature List - this is just a starting point for A LIST to help reconstruct a canon for GOOD children. Not supposed to be definitive end-all-be-all. I'm sure I left many things out unintentionally. My list is in no particular order. *=for little ones

Republicans are learning that the law is a door that only swings in one direction. Democrats can do illegal and unconstitutional things — like enacting DACA, or putting noncitizens on voting rolls — but when Republicans try to undo these things, judges prevent them from doing so.

One of the best historical examples of the importance of willpower and n ignoring "Tha Settled Science" I order to blaze a new pathway that is based on TRUTH that eventually disrupts all existing paradigms and forces others to SUBMIT
Exciting new frontiers almost always come from ignoring previous paradigm of received ideas

but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now.
it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them
the last 6 months alone:
- a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months)
- a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months
- a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year
- a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3
- retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3
- an ai-designed drug entered phase 3
- a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3
- an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved
- a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney
- human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave
we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday
stick around, it's going to get weird

You also have no moral right to airdrop 200,000 Somalis into Minnesota and Maine, remaking towns in their image, but here we are anyway.
Your morals around subjugation and consent are remarkably fluid.

I have the same thoughts about @SlowToWrite (Samuel Sey) that I have with all undocumented (or potentially undocumented) immigrants who are living productive otherwise law-abiding lives in the country.
1) Detention is a last resort, not a first resort.
2) If there is *evidence* that they are flight risk (not just suspicion due to immigration status) use an ankle monitor.
3) Detain them if they've committed felonies or are otherwise a threat to the public.
Oh, and deportation isn't always the right answer. If a person is married to an American, has a job, and has American kids here then it's usually going to be bad for us and for them to deport. We should *want* productive, peaceful people and families in this country.
Border security is very good. We should control who gets in this country and limit immigration to a pace that sustainable, doesn't overwhelm social services, and doesn't overtax communities.
Interior enforcement -- especially when dealing with people who are living productive lives here -- can be more perilous. There's lots of consensus to get rid of criminals. Let's do that and then talk about the folks who are living good lives here in the U.S.
I think the Reagan approach in 1986 (legalization plus more border security) was correct. We failed, however, at border security in the years and decades that followed, and that is a key reason for our present crisis.
Consent based abortion. Consent based sex. Consent based gender relations. Consent based genital surgery. Consent based assisted suislide. Yoink! JK we never really cared about consent just let us do what we want with your body and we get to make up the justification afterward.

Euros do this thing where they attack you if you make a type of bread or ham a fraction of a millimeter wrong, but they'll let guys with facial scarification who were boiling their enemies in a Bugs Bunny pot last week call themselves 100% authentic Europeans.

🚨CRIMINAL CHARGES FILED🚨
I've obtained the documents regarding the criminal charges Hennepin County is targeting @JamesOKeefeIII with.
James O'Keefe is charged with felony unlawful voting and identity theft.
He is facing 10 years in prison, if convicted.
It's important to note, O’Keefe and Cameron Higby entered multiple polling places while disguised BUT NEVER SIGNED THE OATH OR CASTED A BALLOT.
Higby is also charged.

There is nothing to debate. There is nothing else to discuss. We don’t need to make reasoned, theological, or political arguments. This needs to be our default posture from here on out.

Anyone who tells you not to organize is the enemy.
Anyone who criticizes a group merely for being organized is the enemy.
The most disquieting fact about Old English: “Beowulf” survives in only one manuscript, and if it had perished like the others, we’d have no idea the poem ever existed. Now think of all the works, just as full of wonders, that are destroyed forever. Beowulf was only a spark.

There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.

THEO VON: “Was there anybody who was immune to COVID-19?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “There’s one adult group. You’re going to laugh.”
[Theo Von listens closely for the reveal]
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “Smokers… They got very mild cases. And they don’t get long COVID.”
THEO VON: “Why?”
MCCULLOUGH: “Because smokers maintain a level of nicotine in the bloodstream… Smoking blocks the spike protein. It’s amazing. I thought smokers were going to go down.”
THEO VON: “Do you think that’s a good idea [to use nicotine patches] on a regular basis?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “I think [it’s a good idea] if they have long COVID... Nicotine, don’t forget, is a nootropic. A nootropic is a drug that makes the brain function more effectively... It’s addictive, but it’s not harmful to the human body... Nicotine patches are perfectly safe.”
