Hard to think of finer looking animal IMHO and I know many more think the same. Sadly @lornaslater & others want to make it legal to shoot this animal 365 days a year, day & night. If you haven't already please sign @1edmountain petition to voice your disgust at this proposal.

Just to remind you that the proposal to remove the closed
season for deer is being considered next week. You can help stop it by signing this petition.

Interesting that a Green Party minister is promoting the destruction of an iconic Scottish species, by removing selective management.
Any one with genuine interest in our wild deer 🦌and their welfare I urge you to please take a moment to sign this petition from @1edmountain
Replying to @BASCNorth
@BASCNorth @ScotLandEstates @ScotGamekeepers @ScotCountryside @ScotTories After 40 years of managing deer I cannot support the Government’s proposals to remove the closed seasons on all male deer. Support my petition here shorturl.at/sRZ58
Sadly there are several reasons that the capercaillie have reached the perilous state they are now in.However there is one we could stop now & that’s human disturbance. Wildlife photographers, bird watchers, walkers, mountain bikers, dog walkers, please just give the caper space.

Last week the @BWPAwards were announced and I was delighted to have “Stag by the Loch Side” win the habitat category. So many amazing images this year, congratulations to the other winners and all who made it into the BWPA book 👏🏻.@BritishDeerSoc @ScotGamekeepers
Our Habitat category is all about imaginative and original imagery that powerfully portrays the importance of the environment and ecosystems that sustain the wildlife within them.
Well done to Neil McIntyre, whose image ‘Stag by the Loch Side’ wins this category 🏆

Hey Twitter, we need your help.
Between rising print costs and low sales, May was an awful month for us following a tough few years during the pandemic.
If just half our lovely followers bought a Sandstone book, it would change everything for us.

A huge thank you to everyone who bought books from our online shop this week!
Our bestseller was Chasing the Deer by @NeilMcIntyre3 (bit.ly/39epp35), *very* closely followed by The Wood That Built London by @SchulerCJ (bit.ly/3bLQg7W).
Went to the big city at the weekend and spotted @NeilMcIntyre3's new book out in the wild. Had a flip through and it's utterly cracking. Beautiful work Neil 🙌💫
(Would make a great Christmas present for any deer and wildlife fans 😁)
