Following an FBI investigation with our interagency partners, this morning ousted President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro is now charged by superseding indictment with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Torture — also charging former First Lady of Venezuela Cilia Flores de Maduro with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Torture and one count of Narcoterrorism. As alleged in the indictment, the Maduro regime subjected over a dozen American citizens to torture while held in custody of the Venezuelan government - including drugs, electrocution, sexual assault, and more. They will now answer for their crimes. These charges follow the historic law enforcement operation proudly supported by this @FBI in January, which arrested Maduro and executed one of the most daring FTOCs in US history, returning him and his wife to the United States - an operation which required months of coordination, detailed planning, and seamless execution across multiple components of the federal government led by the Department of War. Today’s charges reflect the commitment from this FBI and this Department of Justice to accountability, the rule of law, and the protection of U.S. national security. Thank you to @NewYorkFBI who brilliantly led this investigation with our partners. -DKP🇺🇸

Last month, I ran the Tunnel to Towers 5K in New York City. This race is held annually to honor the lives of those lost on 9/11 and in the years that followed, in addition to those who continue to suffer from 9/11-related illnesses. This year, for the first time, the FBI displayed a banner with the names of our own personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. The wind and rain didn’t dampen the spirit and resilience of everyone who showed up for this race. It was an incredible experience, and I’m honored to have participated this year.

🚨 34 MISSING CHILDREN LOCATED. A three-day operation in New York brought together 100+ professionals from nearly 40 agencies — and 34 missing children and teens, ages 7 to 18, were found. That’s what happens when law enforcement shares intelligence, follows every lead, and refuses to quit. These aren’t case numbers. They’re kids. They’re families. Outstanding work by every professional who helped bring them to safety. Find the missing. Protect the vulnerable. Never stop. -DKP🇺🇸

Less than a year since its inception, the #FBI's National Counter-UAS Training Center (NCUTC), operated by #FBICIRG, has already trained and certified enough operators to help State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial partners stand up their own C-UAS capabilities. Just last week, NCUTC graduates in New York led airspace protection at the US Open from start to finish, with our @NewYorkFBI team working alongside them as supporting members of the Task Force to Restore American Airspace Sovereignty. This success reflects our shared mission: giving partners nationwide the training, tools, and confidence to protect critical infrastructure and major events. A strong win for this FBI, and a stronger future for American airspace sovereignty. #YourFBI #Partnerships @NYPDnews

In the field back home on Long Island with a group of 500+ law enforcement officers - showing appreciation for their incredible work helping this @FBI and law enforcement all over the country deliver a historic 18 months of results for the American people. These are the men and women who brought the largest violent crime reduction in modern American history, a historic 20% drop in the murder rate, a 150% increase in fentanyl seizures in New York alone, and so much more. This is what happens right here when you back the Blue and give them support - and it’s here to stay. Special thank you to Ed Hugh President of the Suffolk County Asian Jade Society, Louis Civello President of the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association, and the Suffolk County PD for hosting me - special to be home.

Growing up as a first generation American citizen on Long Island NY, 9/11 hit extremely close to my family. On one of the worst days in American history when savage terrorists attacked our homeland, so many friends, neighbors, and other first responders ran toward danger to protect and serve their fellow Americans. In the wake of so much tragedy, we saw the best of our country respond. I was honored to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York paying tribute to all those who defended America in her darkest hour. That includes the far too many who have died in the years since from 9/11 related illness in the FBI that I’m extremely proud to lead. Their sacrifices - and the sacrifices of ALL law enforcement, first responders, and our military who gave their lives - will NEVER be forgotten. And let it be known to any law enforcement organization who chooses to disrespect the brave souls who lost their lives on this day - you will have no friend in me, and no friend in this FBI. Special thanks to National September 11 Memorial and Museum Director Clifford Chanin who hosted us. Their work honoring 9/11 is incredibly important. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.”
