You want to lead an intervention force in Niger while terrorists on flip flops are killing your brigadiers like chickens 😂
No go warm eba chop.
When Nigeria was prepared to lead an ECOWAS intervention force in Niger following the coup, it was Nigerians themselves who opposed the move. In the north the opposition was driven by ethnic sentiments. In the south we had "imperialist" conspiracy theories. We even had one conspiracy nut job steal and release to the public classified documents relating to Nigeria's strike plans. The security implications of allowing a military regime become entrenched on Nigeria's doorstep was overshadowed by emotion, political sentiment, and conspiracy narratives.
Today, our border with the Niger Republic is the most dangerous and porous entry point for terrorists and bandits coming from the Sahel.
That said, there is a $13 billion Trans Saharan Gas Pipeline Project that connects Nigeria, Algeria, and Niger. Over 2,400 kilometres of the pipeline have already been completed across Nigeria and Algeria. The remaining 1,600 kilometre stretch will pass through Niger.
An unstable Niger jeopardizes the entire project, so Algeria's military involvement is a strategic and pragmatic decision.
I be wondering how a Dominican ends up with the surname Lendeborg, then I remember I spent a good portion of my first six years being taken care of by a Santo Domingo family whose surname was “Hamburgo”.

Players in the Suns’ locker room are frustrated by the lack of a true point guard on the roster, per @ChrisBHaynes
"There's some growing frustration within that locker room for the simple fact that that roster does not have a point guard that can organize that offense... I don't know that the Suns are looking to address as of right now, the hope is that they can kind of play this role by committee, but as of right now, it's not looking like it."

Western civilization that quite literally disrupted all west africa and central african civilization? You don't have to like china but you also don't have to glaze the west. I see now why a lot of carribeans and black americans don't take africans seriously.

Once you’re cool with kindergartners getting slaughtered, this is the reality. What good are those PSAs? That’s for people who at least want to try to care. We can’t even care enough to do that.

The Celtics reportedly tried to trade Jaylen Brown to the Nets, but Brooklyn rejected the deal because of his ties to Kyrie Irving, per @NYPost_Lewis
Jaylen Brown publicly defended Kyrie Irving after his suspension for promoting an antisemitic video, calling Nets owner Joe Tsai’s criticism of Irving “alarming.” Brown later criticized Tsai directly, questioning his business relationships and suggesting he also needed to be held accountable.

Charles Bassey’s of @warriors story is one of those journeys that truly inspires you.
I keep saying this, 90% of Nigeria’s future NBA players are probably still playing football. The real question is: how do we identify these talents and convince them to give basketball a chance?
Shout-out to Coach Dele of @AviCennaInt (Avi-Cenna International School Lagos), the man who coached Charles Bassey. A great guy who played a role in a story that continues to inspire young Nigerian basketball players.
Nigeria is full of untapped talent. We just need the right people, the right development system, and the right opportunities to discover them.

I would have missed this tournament, but I’m grateful I didn’t. I gave up travelling for Christmas, and @bmaruggi10 sent me some money to ensure I could cover the tournament and scout Lewis Uvwo.
Today, my greatest joy is knowing that Lewis Uvwo is proof that every Nigerian kid can achieve their dreams and reach the highest level through hard work, dedication, and the right opportunities.
I was the first basketball scout in Africa to use my platform to speak about Lewis when hardly anyone was paying attention and all thanks to @bmaruggi10. Today, seeing him commit to @PCFriarsmbb makes me proud because I believed in his talent before the recognition came.
His journey has opened doors for me and demonstrated the quality of my scouting eye. Sometimes, all a talented kid needs is someone who believes in them before the world takes notice. I’m proud I played a part in telling Lewis Uvwo’s story.
THE JOURNEY DOESN'T STOP HERE LEWIS, WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST 👍.
