America tested a hydrogen device first, but it weighed 82 tons, and no plane on Earth could lift it. The USSR built the first hydrogen bomb that a bomber could actually carry. Today marks 65 years since the Soviet Union tested the Tsar Bomba on October 30, 1961, the most powerful bomb ever detonated. The road to it began eight years earlier. On August 12, 1953, the Soviet Union tested the RDS-6s at the Semipalatinsk test site. Engineers built a test field around it with houses, a bridge and military equipment. The blast reached about 400 kilotons, some 30 times the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. This is the original Soviet color footage of that day. Eight years after Hiroshima, the West had lost its monopoly on the most terrible weapon.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh ends his tenure tomorrow - among the finest Chiefs I have seen in 3 decades of covering the forces. Met him first when he headed the National Flight Test Centre's team of test pilots flying the Tejas. Excellent aviator, a very fine mind. Utterly unpretentious, spoke his mind - singularly determined to make changes where they mattered. Didn't want to kick the can down the road. Took on HAL directly with Tejas and made it clear - deliver what you promise or don't deliver at all. This was the man we needed at the helm for Op Sindoor. In an era of social media, foreign disinformation campaigns on X and a plain lack of understanding of how warfare happens, his reputation took a hit over IAF losses during Sindoor. The expectation was of a perfect record. That doesn't happen in military operations of the scale and intensity that we saw. Important to remember ACM Singh as the Chief who helmed the IAF's massive fight back which forced Pakistan to the ceasefire table. On May 10, 2025, the IAF hit Pakistan harder than at any point since the 1971 war, 54 years earlier. By about noon that day, the IAF was clearly on the ascendency, picking off high value targets at will. More than 10 airbases and air defence sites had been struck. An Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft had been shot down. IAF jets tasked with hitting even more targets had to abort their missions when Pak's DGMO picked up the hotline and said they had had enough. That will remain my abiding memory of Air Chief Marshal AP Singh.

BREAKING: After years of our continuous follow-up and communication with the MHA Foreigners Division, Bureau of Immigration and Indian consular offices in the US, the Government of India cancelled the OCI registration of John Daniel of Laymen's Evangelical Fellowship India over Christian missionary activities in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Madras High Court has upheld the cancellation, finding that he had engaged in missionary preaching without the required permission. WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT? Laymen’s Evangelical Fellowship India (LEFI), registered in Nungambakkam, Chennai, is associated with John Daniel, an Indian-born American citizen engaged in religious and missionary activities in India on behalf of the organisation while holding OCI status. LEFI’s presence is particularly notable in Andhra Pradesh’s coastal districts of Prakasam, Guntur and Nellore, and its wider network of churches across India warrants systematic documentation and scrutiny of compliance with applicable laws. CASE OF STUARTPURAM VILLAGE, ANDHRA PRADESH? Stuartpuram was historically associated with communities branded as “criminal tribes” under the British colonial Criminal Tribes Act of 1871. This stigma reflected colonial policies of collective suspicion and social control, not any inherent criminality of the communities concerned. From the mid-20th century, Christian organisations, including LEFI undertook outreach activities in the region involving religious conversions in the guise of moral education and employment initiatives. Network of churches established by LEFI across India is provided below: Andhra Pradesh: 354 Churches Telangana: 42 Churches Tamil Nadu: 117 Churches Andaman & Nicobar Islands: 1 Church Arunachal Pradesh: 5 Churches Assam: 5 Churches Birhar: 1 Church Chattisgarh: 2 Churches New Delhi: 1 Church Goa: 1 Church Gujarat: 5 Churches Haryana: 2 Churches Himachal Pradesh: 3 Churches Jammu & Kashmir: 3 Churches Jharkhand: 3 Churches Karnataka: 10 Churches Kerala: 3 Churches Madhya Pradesh: 2 Churches Maharashtra: 9 Churches Manipur: 8 Churches Meghalaya: 3 Churches Mizoram: 1 Church Nagaland: 2 Churches Odisha: 7 Churches Punjab: 4 Churches Rajasthan: 1 Church Sikkim: 1 Church Tripura: 1 Church Uttarakhand: 1 Church Uttar Pradesh: 7 Churches West Bengal: 8 Churches

The Indian Air Force utilised two C-130J aircraft for airlifting 23 tonnes of NDRF relief supplies to Vijayawada. This will improve disaster preparedness and enable a timely response to manage the after effects of Cyclone Arnab. The IAF remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding lives and supporting national disaster relief operations. #IndianAirForce #HADR #NationFirst #CyclonePreparedness #HarKaamDeshKeNaam @DefenceMinIndia @SpokespersonMoD @HQ_IDS_India @adgpi @indiannavy @CareerinIAF @air_veterans

🇯🇵 I’m Japanese. I have a serious question for Americans. 🇺🇸 During WWII, atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 🇯🇵💣🇺🇸 As a Japanese person, I’ve always wondered… Did America have another way to end the war WITHOUT using atomic bombs? 🤝 Diplomatic negotiations? 🛢️ Continued blockade? ⚔️ A conventional military invasion? ⏳ Waiting for Japan to surrender? Was there a realistic alternative that could have saved more lives on both sides? I genuinely want to hear the American perspective. Please be honest.

Japan, this is seriously beyond horrifying… 😭💧 And we’re supposed to let 100,000 of them come here…? ⬛︎ Pakistani suspect Danish Muhammad allegedly threatened a teenage girl with a knife, told her, “I’ll get 400,000 yen if I kill you,” forced her to take drugs, and sexually assaulted her.
