It is of great interest to evaluate if PNPLA3 G-allele modifies response to MASH therapies. In our @HEP_Journal article, histological response to effruxifermin (FGF21 agonist) is PNPLA3 genotype agnostic. Await sema, tirza, and resmetirom data.

Had the opportunity to present Grand Rounds on the evolving role of advanced endoscopy in GI oncology — from ESD to interventional EUS and how these techniques are reshaping management and patient care.
Grateful to the incredible advanced endoscopy mentors @WCM_GI, @drbobbybrown , and my amazing program director @ReemSharaiha for the mentorship, guidance, and support.
Thanks as well to our general GI fellows and staff who make this work possible.

Not all ALD risks are biological. Our recent work shows social deprivation increases acute complications (cardiovascular events, infections, alcohol-associated hepatitis) but not long-term liver progression.
Social determinants matter.

We closed #SLDSummit 2026 with a forward looking Plenary session dedicated to scanning the horizon of SLD research and care.
The discussion explored whether genetics can meaningfully guide future treatment strategies, questioning the feasibility and desirability of pan SLD drug development, and reflecting on the core skills required for the next generation of SLD specialists.

What about non-invasive tests (NITs) in the hepatology community? 🤔 How can we asses liver disease without doing a liver biopsy?
📊 Data supporting the role of NITs is emerging at fast pace
🧪 While liver biopsy is still required in Phase III trials, things are evolving
