Thanks Ben! I have the feeling that there is more to discover 😏... we keep on digging ⛏️⛏️⛏️
Woohoo! Our paper about the structure and function of a Photosystem II biogenesis intermediate is now out in Nature Plants 🥳(dx.doi.org/10.1038/s41477-02…). Thanks again to @SchullerJm, @bengeliscious and the whole team for this awesome collaboration! #photosynthesis #CryoEM
We are delighted to share our preprint on the structure and function of a photosystem II (PSII) biogenesis intermediate, which contains three assembly factors (Psb27, Psb28 and Psb34).

Thanks! The small single transmembrane helix protein Psb34 shares some sequence similarity with HLIPs but the Chl binding motif is missing.

Thanks Dvir - I hope you will enjoy reading!
Thanks Alexey! It took us a while to dive into that complex and to unravel its molecular details. Awesome teamwork with @SchullerJM and all the others!
Our PSII-I cryo-EM structure reveals the first molecular snapshot of PSII biogenesis and provides clear mechanistic insights into PSII assembly but there are still LOTS OF THINGS TO DO 😀
