For Autopilot at @Number1bw, we had to pick a video model that would work well autonomously. We tested Wan 3, Grok 1.5 and Seedance with the following cost and quality results:
- Wan 3: $3.00 (Quality: Good)
- Seedance 2.0: $14.52 (Quality: Good)
- Grok 1.5: $0.60 (Quality: OK)
Seedance rejected 11 of 12 tasks for having "likenesses of real people". But there were no likenesses of real people. Totally useless, unfortunately.
Wan was cheaper and more reliable, so it won.

AI is widening the creative gap. Creative people are exploding, while others cannot generate interesting ideas even with the best tools, which must be frustrating.
This tool design assumes that people want a tool that can take them from a very vague idea (picking a genre like “mafia”?) to a finished output asap, which implies that quality doesn’t matter much. Don’t think that’s correct.
