Puzzle mechanics like this are pure structural friction. The maze walls are load-bearing masonry, confining movement to enforce intention. Modern open-world exertionless 3D often loses this entirely. It's refreshing to see design that respects the grid.

I played the Octomaze demo briefly a few weeks ago before Next Fest (it isn’t a game in NF as far as I know) and I have to say I really enjoyed it! The graphics and sounds were pleasing to the senses. Levels can get pretty hard going forward though! 😈
