Paternity leave needs to be reviewed and approved for 6 months in the UK.
A lot of new mothers are struggling alone with new borns while their husbands need to rush back to work.
And there is no support system except Africans who might invite parents to assist with caring for the new borns.
This is why some people have stayed off having kids in the country .

When BAT removed fuel subsidy in 2023, they have;
- allocated 37.2 billion to build housing units for federal judges in Abuja
- spent 40 billion on Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs for 109 Senators & 360 House of Representatives
- distributed 70 billion as "welcome packages" or support allowances for newly elected members of the 10th National Assembly
- spent 21 billion on new VP’s residence Abuja
- spent 5 billion on Vp’s quarter Lagos
- spent 7 billion to upgrade presidential fleet
- spent 8 billion on presidential residence, Abuja and Lagos
- spent 5 billion on presidential Yacht
Meanwhile, there has been ZERO, ZERO gains of this fuel subsidy removal to the people.
Wicked government.
“CHEAPER FUEL MUST MEAN CHEAPER TRANSPORT FARES”: PRESIDENT TINUBU, GOVERNORS MOVE TO CUT TRANSPORT FARES NATIONWIDE
I am pleased with my discussion with the Governors’ Forum this afternoon. The Governors have, on their own initiative, resolved to take immediate measures to bring down the cost of transportation in their states, with a strong focus on leveraging the cost benefits of CNG and electric vehicles.
The Federal Government is already investing significantly in this energy transition. Through the Presidential CNG Initiative, over 120,000 vehicles have been converted nationwide, with more than 100,000 additional conversion kits in the works. At the same time, we continue to expand conversion centres and refuelling infrastructure nationwide.
The Federal Government, through the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund, is currently financing more than 100 gas projects across the country, including 15 CNG mother stations and 86 daughter stations. In May, I commissioned four of these projects in Lagos, Abuja and Owerri, including a 15-station refuelling network in Lagos and an Abuja facility that can serve 1,000 cars and tricycles and 50 trucks and buses a day.
I have also directed the additional rollout of another 500 CNG refuelling stations nationwide in addition to the 500 stations ordered earlier in the year by the Fund, bringing the programme to 1,000 stations across the country.
Intra-state transport is where Nigerians feel the cost most directly, and it is where the states hold the levers. I am encouraged that our Governors are moving to bring these benefits closer to the people they serve.
We have agreed to set up a joint Federal and State committee to begin implementing these measures immediately. A vehicle running on CNG spends 60 to 80 per cent less on fuel than one running on petrol.
From October 1, our goal is that Nigerians begin to partake in those savings through lower transport fares.
We have agreed that cheaper fuel should result in cheaper fares!
Each tier of government must keep doing its part and work together for the benefit of every Nigerian.
Nigeria First.

Atiku’s message on fuel subsidy is beginning to resonate at the grassroots for a simple reason: people vote based on the reality they live, not macroeconomic theories.
When a family is buying fuel at ₦1,400, paying more for transport and watching food prices rise, the promise of reforms can feel distant.
For many Nigerians, ₦300 fuel that immediately lowers the cost of transportation and food is a more tangible benefit than macroeconomic indicators they cannot feel in their pockets.
Politics is ultimately about how people experience government in their everyday lives.

Why was K1 de Ultimate crying after hearing the news of Taiwo Hassan Ogogo's demise?
Find the answer here in this tribute I wrote for the late actor

Òkú ń sunkún òkú, Akáṣọlérí ń sunkún ara wọn.
In May 1990, during the burial rites of the great Hubert Ogunde, Dr I-Show Pepper (Ishola Ogunsola) led the dirge and procession while the prolific chanter Ogogo (Taiwo Hassan) carried the powerful oríkì and chants that day.
I-Show Pepper himself later joined the ancestors on 28 December 1992.
The same Ogogo who led those chants for Ogunde died yesterday (23 August 2026) and will be buried today, 24 August 2026, in his hometown Ilaro.
Who will now chant for him?

Again, you CANNOT fix Nigerian politics without fixing funding. Until the electorate actually start funding the people they want in power, we are going NOWHERE and will merely be exchanging one ARMED ROBBER for another ARMED ROBBER. Sorry!
