I commend His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his compassionate act of approving a monthly transport allowance of ₦70,000 for civil servants, in addition to their regular salary. The magnanimity of the financial award shows that President Tinubu is a humane and empathetic leader who feels the pains of the citizenry occasioned by the vagaries of the world economy caused by the Middle East crisis, which has resulted in increased transport costs worldwide, with no nation spared. And rather than just mere rhetoric, as some have been wont to do, the Commander-in-Chief has chosen to prioritise the welfare of the Nigerian worker by taking this benevolent action at a time it is most needed. I also commend the President and the Federal Government for the timely and effective actions taken to contain and defeat the recent Ebola threat involving the Bundibugyo virus, which came up after a foreign citizen entered Nigeria from a friendly and brother nation. Nigeria's response was so effective and groundbreaking that its public health care mechanisms successfully stabilised and managed the acute phase of an infected Swiss citizen before she was safely evacuated, leaving Nigeria with zero active cases. This is a testament to the effectiveness of the Nigerian healthcare sector under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which has become the first country on Earth to achieve this feat during the 2026 Ebola epidemic outbreak. This has led to commendations and congratulations from the World Health Organisation, which on Monday, October 26, 2026, hailed our beloved country for its handling of the Ebola index case. Nigeria, under President Tinubu, is on solid footing and heading in the right direction. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Bemigho Reno Omokri Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Mexican States, the Republic of Guatemala, the Republic of Honduras, and the Republic of Nicaragua.

More States Pass State Police Bill as Approvals Reach 32 of 36 Approved (32): Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara Committee review (2): Katsina Bauchi Received (1): Borno No public update (1): Niger
BREAKING: 24 States Approve State Police Constitutional Amendment, Meeting Two-Thirds Threshold Approved states so far (24): Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Kaduna, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara Scheduled for Plenary (1)
Kano Committee Review (2)
Bauchi, Katsina Received (6)
Abia, Borno, Ebonyi, Kogi, Ondo, Sokoto No Public Update
Jigawa, Lagos, Niger What Happens Next 1. Complete the Constitutional Amendment
With 24 State Houses of Assembly having approved, the resolutions are sent back to the National Assembly. Once confirmed, the amendment proceeds for presidential assent. This creates the constitutional basis for State Police Services alongside a Federal Police Service. 2. Finalise and Pass the National Policing Bill
The draft National Policing Bill (and related consequential amendments) is currently under review by the Ministry of Justice. After validation and presidential consideration, it will go to the National Assembly for passage. This law sets the national standards, certification process, oversight, funding, and operational rules. 3. States Pass Their Own Laws
Each state that wants to operate a State Police Service must enact its own state law establishing it. 4. State Certification
No State Police Service can begin operations until the state is certified as meeting the national minimum standards. The process is phased: the constitutional change enables it, but certification is required before any actual policing starts. 5. Operational Launch
Once certified, the State Police Service can commence. Federal coordination, inspections, accountability mechanisms, and possible federal intervention remain in place.

Throughout the years, the Obidient camp has consistently engaged in mediocrity and atrocious behaviour. While APC criticises mediocrity when it sees it, the Obidient cult led by Peter Obi routinely defends crooks and criminals. Over the weekend, they shielded Okafor Kingsley (Emir Sirdam of Parallel Facts) against embezzlement allegations from @diisa2002 and @cessadelove1. These people, and their principal Peter Obi, cannot be trusted with power.

I represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the official commissioning of the Canary Point Holdings Headquarters at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Lagos is the heart of innovation and commerce and we are glad when organisations reaffirm their faith in our state's economy by expanding their operations. Every investment of this scale translates directly to jobs for our youth and strength for our local market. We are focused on creating the right environment so local businesses can succeed and expand. Congratulations to the team at Canary Point Holdings on this achievement. I wish you continued growth and success.
