For me, @mapp_john14664 is one of the best people on this site. A true friend.
His posts are like gems. He's a serious thinker & writer.
If you want to learn about the Bible, like I do, I can't think of many better sources than Decoding Bible Messages.
Link in the comments.
Why do the same patterns appear throughout the Bible? Isaac, Joseph, Moses & Jonah all prefigure Christ.
In Decoding Bible Messages, @RealistGuild member @mapp_john14664 explores these connections & what they reveal about God's providential order.

Not a teacher, but still an adult figure responsible for us: our bus driver was a very large, old farmer named Duke. When the kids would get too rowdy on the bus he would turn around & roar “Sit down and shut up!!!” Then entire bus would go silent and still. He gave every child a full-sized candy bar every Halloween. One time, our bus slid off the narrow gravel road during the pouring rain into a deep ditch and he sheltered me under his raincoat until a second bus came to pick us up. When he died, the whole church was full of kids from his bus route. We were terrified of him, & loved him. I think kids crave structure & order, even if they don’t consciously realize it.

This is excellent, and the message needs to be spread far and wide. To that end, I have attempted to briefly summarize it as if I were Spencer Pratt. Here goes:
Okay, so here are some important facts about the way things are, and some guidelines for how people and the government should act.
First off, we don’t make up stuff about the way things are; we use our senses and our brains to discover how things are. Nobody, and certainly not the State, has the right to make stuff up and force us to swear by it. Everybody has the right to be their own person, regardless of their color or religion. And people are born with rights—like living free, speaking your mind, owning stuff, and protecting yourself. Those rights come from nature and God, not from government. So the government can’t just make some decree that changes who we are, or that takes our rights away. If they try, they’re overstepping big time and need to be slapped down.
Also, rights come with duties. We have discovered some fixed moral laws with our brains, and we have to obey them. Don’t murder, steal, or lie, for example. We have the right to free speech, but we have the duty to tell the truth. We have the right to own property, but we have to take care of it. We have the right to defend ourselves—with guns if needed—but we have to do it responsibly.
We need to be honest in our business dealings without trying to get the government to put its thumb on the scale. We need to be active in local groups like family and churches, without letting the government control too much. Make government stick with its core duties of national defense and safeguarding the rights that God already gave us. Choose elected leaders wisely and hold them accountable. Stand up for people when leaders try to boss them around. Keep your eye on them, don’t believe just anything they tell you without checking it out, and don’t let them violate our Constitution or they will go from being useful servants to terrible masters.
Don't believe everything you read on the Internet. Use your head and see if it makes sense. There are people out there who are going to try to take advantage of you, or to mislead you into adopting harmful beliefs.
When all is said and done, stand strong. Uphold objective truth, be a decent person and a good community member, train up your kids well, take care of your own life, and whatever you do, don’t ever let the communists take over.

I had a similar teacher, the only one I ever turned my homework in for because he made not turning it in a real consequence 3x/week without exception.
Those who appreciated him would go to war for him, those who resented him spread dark lies.
There's a political lesson there.
My favourite teacher when I was in primary school was the only man who was there: Mr Vaughn. Very strict. Terrifying. There were dark rumours about him. But I paid attention. I soon saw that he cared more than anyone. He was just doing what men are supposed to do: discipline us.
I will keep banging on about this. Problems need to be addressed at their root causes. The education of our very youngest is where our support is needed most. I can just about remember the sickening disappointment I felt as a young boy when I realised what was going on.

This was the intial mistake. The false belief (hope?) that all cultures see the human person in the same way. We just don't. The tiny minority of people who have travelled the world outside of an insulated Peace Corps/package holiday setting (or something like that) knows this.

The bitterly fun part about the people who shape political discourse on both the left and the right is that most of the times they are propagandists who have lost the ability to distinguishing propaganda from thought, and are thus entirely captive to their ideological demons.

Modern education teaches children a distorted understanding of reality, human nature & what constitutes a good life.

"many souls already “live online” in the fabricated reality they project via social media etc..it will be these same souls who enjoy the illusion more than the reality that will be willing to live “full time” in a virtual world.."

I think about the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit daily. Today I wondered how He'd feel about creating us through sheer love, giving us free will, a way to come back to Him, following each of us every single second of every hour of our lives & so many of us ignoring Him anyway.
We can't do evil even if good may come. That's a fundamental Christian teaching. But even if we ignore that for a moment, it's obvious that nobody likes to be hoodwinked into anything anyway. That only causes resentment later.
I was wondering what the best system would be for decision making. I'm currently persuaded by a panel of wise, elderly, classically trained, virtuous men & women who've no families to threaten, no livelihoods to take away, no fear of prison, no party allegiances. Just a thought.
There's a confusion over the words 'solution' & 'utopia'. No solution ever brings about utopia. Utopia is impossible and that's implied in the word itself (it means 'no place'). But to say solutions to our current malaise are similarly impossible isn't the same thing.

This is why improving education is crucial.
Only by educating enough future judges to recognize and apply classical realism can we avoid tyranny.
We also need a populace that votes for realists and can discern and avoid non-realists.
