Today, I join my Muslim brothers and sisters across Osun State and beyond to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). I deeply appreciate your prayers, support and goodwill throughout our just-concluded electoral journey. As Nurudeen, the light of Osun, I am reminded once again that leadership must be guided by peace, compassion, forgiveness and service to humanity. As we move beyond the election, I call on all of us to forgive our persecutors, heal our wounds and reject division. Let us resuscitate the Osun we all desire; a state where we live peacefully, worship freely and prosper together. May the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) continue to guide us, and may Allah bless the Muslim Ummah, Osun State and Nigeria with enduring peace, unity and prosperity. Amin

Today, I received the newly posted Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim D. Zungura, who paid a courtesy visit to me as he assumes duty in Osun State. I welcomed his commitment to impartial policing, peace and stability, especially at a time when our state is working to fully restore post-election peace and reconciliation. I assured him that our administration is ready to support the police without any strings attached. What we seek is fair policing. To consolidate peace and rebuild public confidence, I made five specific requests to the new CP: 1. Rebuild public trust in the police by ensuring that police conduct is professional, impartial and people-oriented. 2. Strengthen cooperation between the state government and police command, based on mutual respect, the rule of law and fair policing. 3. Reorganise the internal operations of the command and address units that have been compromised or perceived as partisan. 4. Ensure full police participation in the State Security Council meetings to strengthen security coordination across the state. 5. Release those arrested and held as political detainees, while putting an end to further politically motivated arrests. Osun deserves peace. Osun deserves justice. Osun deserves a police command that enjoys the confidence of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation. I extend an olive branch to all stakeholders. Let us work together to heal our state, rebuild trust and give peace a permanent home in Osun

I had no electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election. The credit for our victory goes to God Almighty and the good people of Osun State for their overwhelming support and re-election. For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election. I commend all our political partners who sacrificed, worked tirelessly, and went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. Their commitment and support were instrumental to our success. Now that the election is over, I remain the Governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or tribe. My commitment is to unite our people and continue working for the progress and prosperity of Osun State.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲! I am deeply humbled and grateful to God and the good people of Osun State for the confidence reposed in me to serve for another term. This victory belongs to the people. I commend your resilience, your courage and your unwavering commitment to democracy. I will not disappoint you. As we turn the page on the election, I appeal to all Osun people to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity. There is no victor, no vanquished. I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all. I also remember, with a minute of silence, the victims of the needless pre-election violence. May their souls rest in peace. I urge our traditional rulers, community leaders and all stakeholders to lead the healing and reconciliation process across our communities. To the people of Osun, you have entrusted me with another four years. I will reinforce our strong points, correct our shortcomings and build on the progress we have made. Osun is on the march again. We will accelerate development, widen the net of good governance and continue our journey to transform Osun from a civil service state into an industrial state and a preferred investment destination. I thank Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his support for a free and fair election. I also appreciate all lovers of democracy, at home and abroad, and especially the media for standing firmly with democracy.

EMERGENCY PRESS BRIEFING Gentlemen of the press, I call you today for a briefing on two major developments on the Osun political landscape. We have credible reports that a police signal has arrived in Osun directing immediate arrest of Accord Party leaders. We also know the directive includes that they should be taken to Abuja immediately and should not be released until Monday. I have spoken to the Inspector General of Police about the reported directive to arrest Accord Party leaders. But I am appealing to him that this development, if true, is illegal, and presents Nigeria as a lawless country. Arresting Accord Party leaders on the eve of an election amounts to police helping and assisting the APC to rig the election. I task the IGP to issue a statement to assure Nigerians that no order has been given to arrest Accord Party leaders in Osun State. It is illegal and a threat to democracy for Accord Party leaders to be arrested on the eve of an election on trumped up charges. It is disturbing that we still have over 62 Accord Party leaders held in illegal police detention without any charges against them. This is not democracy. The second issue has to do with the viral video of a serving senator, Francis Fadahunsi who today called for the killing of Accord Party leaders and their families. In the video, the Senator even threatened that where they cannot get Accord Party leaders, they should kill their wives and children. This is now beyond politics. This is now a national security threat that requires the attention of Mr President through the office of the National Security Adviser. I have raised this issue with the IGP and demanded for the immediate investigation and arrest of Senator Fadahunsi. The IGP has confirmed the video and assured of immediate action. We request that the the IGP should stop the illegal operations of IRT, a team that has been arresting Accord Party leaders across the local governments for no just reason; We ask that the police and the DSS immediately arrest Senator Fadahunsi for his incitement to genocide against the people of Ijesahland and Osun state. This is to prove to the world that Nigeria is a state governed by the rule of law. We demand that the IGP enforce due process and fair policing by aborting all anti-people plots against democracy in Osun state. We finally request that the police and other security agencies should act in line with the rule of law and their oath of office before, during and after these coming elections. H.E., Senator Ademola Adeleke, August 11th, 2026

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗯𝘂 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 Not Allow Oyetola Set Osun on Fire At the campaign rally today in Olorunda local government area, I appealed directly to Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Osun is bleeding, and our people will not be intimidated. His intervention is needed, the loss of innocent lives in Osun must stop. All we are asking for is simply a free and fair election. Mr. President must act as the father of this nation and help safeguard the democracy he fought for. I reminded the President that the 2027 general elections are also around the corner, and he should not allow his nephew, Mr. Oyetola, the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, to ruin his name and the democracy he fought along with many others It is our collective prayer that as a country, may we never witness such incident as the political violence of 1983 particularly in the southwest. Democracy works when the people freely chose their leaders, a demand not too much for citizen of Osun State to make. #ImoleCarryOnAccordingly

Yesterday evening, I inspected the vandalized section of the Lameco Flyover in Osogbo. I commend the hardworking engineers from the Ministry of Works who have swiftly mobilized to the site to ensure the immediate repair of the damaged section. During my visit, I received direct briefing from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Bashiru Bello, on the circumstances surrounding the act of vandalism. It is unfortunate that some saboteurs, whose sole objective is to undermine our developmental strides and destroy the legacy of this administration, would resort to attacking public infrastructure built with taxpayers’ resources. I enjoin security agencies to strengthen the protection of public infrastructure across the state and ensure that those responsible for this criminal act are identified, arrested, and brought to justice. These projects belong to the people of Osun State, and every well-meaning citizen has a responsibility to protect them from acts of sabotage and vandalism. My administration remains resolute in its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and will not be deterred by the actions of those who seek to impede our progress.

Today, I officially flagged off our re-election campaign and welcomed decampees from opposition APC, ADC and other political parties into the ruling party, Accord. I reaffirmed my confidence that the people of Osun will once again choose continuity, progress, and good governance on August 15 and thanked the thousands of supporters, unions, associations, workers, pensioners, youths, women, farmers, artisans, religious bodies, who joined us in Osogbo to declare their support for our shared vision. Since 2022, we have delivered on our promises through infrastructure development, debt reduction, improved healthcare, education reforms, water sector revitalisation, agricultural mechanisation, digital economy initiatives, and fiscal transparency. With your support, we will consolidate these gains through our renewed Five-Point Agenda focused on welfare, infrastructure, agro-industrial growth, affordable health and education, and job creation. Accord will be on the ballot, we will vote, our votes will count, and by the grace of God, victory and continuity shall prevail. Together, #ImoleCarryOnAccordingly will be a great success

Yesterday, I attended an endorsement rally organized by the Ajegunle Tradesmen and Artisans Group in Osogbo. The event was also attended by our father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Laaroye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo, and thousands of enthusiastic members of the association. Their unanimous declaration of support for my re-election bid is yet another testament to our administration’s inclusive governance and impactful service delivery across both the formal and informal sectors. I gladly accepted their endorsement and pledged never to let them down. I urge everyone, groups, associations, and communities, to continue mobilizing support for our overwhelming victory on August 15.

I am deeply grateful to the good people of Ijesaland for the massive show of love, support, and confidence in our administration and the Accord family. Today’s overwhelming turnout in Ijebu-Ijesa has once again demonstrated that our movement is growing stronger across Osun State. Despite the defection of some politicians, the people remain firmly committed to good governance, development, and the progress we have collectively achieved. I commend Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi @PelumiEsq_ and the leaders of Ijesa North federal constituency for the successful inauguration of 10,000 canvassers and for their unwavering dedication to our shared vision for a better Osun. The message from Ijesaland is loud and clear: the people have spoken, and no amount of intimidation or violence can diminish their resolve. Our vote remains our voice, and together, we will continue to protect democracy and advance the development of our dear state. I am deeply grateful to the good people of Ijesaland for the massive show of love, support, and confidence in our administration and the Accord family. Your support inspires us to do even more.

Our local security architecture in Osun State is yielding results. If you see something, please report it. I want to commend our Forest Guards, Amotekun Corps, hunters, and local security agents working in partnership with Traditional Rulers and Federal security formations deployed across rural areas and boundaries of Osun State. Beyond their presence on the ground, these formations have significantly strengthened our intelligence gathering with field reports showing they are proactively identifying flashpoints along our boundaries and taking the right precautionary steps to keep our state safe, ensuring that any potential spillover from neighboring states is neutralized. As a follow-up to the security architecture we have put in place in Osun State, I will be placing a call to my fellow Governors in states bordering Osun to further synchronize our security efforts and present a unified front.

I strongly condemn the coordinated attacks carried out by pro-APC political thugs in Ile-Ife, Ede, Osogbo and other parts of our state earlier today. No political ambition is worth the blood, pain, and suffering of innocent citizens. I call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT, the National Security Adviser @NuhuRibadu, the Inspector General of Police @TunjiDisu1, the @OfficialDSSNG, and other security authorities to urgently intervene and call Mr. Gboyega Oyetola @GboyegaOyetola and the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji @OyebamijiBola and everyone behind these provocations to order before they plunge our dear state into chaos. After receiving reports of the attacks, I personally visited affected areas and met victims receiving treatment at the Osun State Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, and the Cottage Hospital, Ede. I also paid a solidarity visit to the Osogbo Accord Chairman who survived a gunshot attack last week. I sympathize with all victims and their families. My administration will not abandon them in this difficult moment. I have directed security agencies to thoroughly investigate these incidents and ensure that every perpetrator, regardless of status or political affiliation, is brought to justice. Political differences must never degenerate into violence, intimidation, or attacks on citizens exercising their constitutional rights. Democracy thrives on dialogue, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law. I urge all residents to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. Additional security measures are being activated across vulnerable locations, and my administration remains fully committed to protecting lives, property, and the peace of Osun State. May God grant speedy recovery to the injured and continue to preserve the peace of our beloved state.
