Surrounded by Family, Yet Socially Isolated. What if being surrounded by family doesn't mean having someone to confide in? Research from rural Uttar Pradesh reveals that nearly 36% of young married women surveyed had no close peers in Jaunpur district, while 86% of their close peers were relatives. These findings highlight how restrictive social norms and limited mobility can shape women's social connections, reproductive health and autonomy. Because empowerment isn't just about being surrounded by people but having the freedom to connect and make informed choices. Published in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, the research features scholars affiliated with @BU_Tweets, @jmiu_official and @WorldBankGroup. India's economy runs on 3 engines 1) Agriculture: 46.1% of jobs → just 17.7% of GVA 2) Industry: 24% of jobs → 27.6% of GVA 3) Services: 30% of jobs → 54.5% of GVA Nearly half of India works in agriculture - yet services generate over half the economic value. That productivity gap is driving India's growth story. Source: PLFS & NSO 2023-24 #IndianEconomy #IndiaData #Economics #DataForImpact #OutlineIndia

₹12 LPA salary. 30% savings. Almost 98 years for a 2 BHK in Mumbai. Homeownership in India isn’t just getting expensive- it’s getting out of reach. From 12.4 years in Jaipur to 97.8 years in Mumbai, the affordability gap is nearly 8×. The real estate dream is getting longer. But can our incomes keep up? #HousingAffordability #India #RealEstate #CostofLiving #DataStory #UrbanIndia #Homeownership #OutlineIndia #DataForImpact

Who really benefited from the CJP movement? Beyond the headlines, the data tells a more nuanced story. A resignation was secured within 10 weeks, several political parties expressed support, and public engagement surged- but whether this momentum translates into lasting political gains remains an open question. Data helps us measure outcomes. Research helps us understand impact. #DataDriven #PublicPolicy #Governance #India #Research #DataVisualization #PoliticalAnalysis #OutlineIndia #DataConsciousIndia #DataForImpact

"Do you go to school?" She nodded with a shy smile. Before she could answer, another child softly said, "She goes sometimes. Other days, she stays home. A simple reminder: the first answer isn't always the full story. Good field research is about more than asking questions- it's about building trust, observing carefully, and listening beyond words. Sometimes, the truth begins after the question. #FieldResearch #DataCollection #SocialResearch #MonitoringAndEvaluation #ResearchEthics #DataForImpact #OutlineIndia

Crude oil fell. Fuel prices didn't. From 2015 to 2025: Petrol: ₹66.41 → ₹94.77/L Diesel: ₹46.15 → ₹87.67/L The question isn't just what changed- it's who bears the cost. Data tells us what changed. Fieldwork tells us why. #IndiaInOneChart #FuelPrices #DataStorytelling #IndiaEconomy #OutlineIndia #DataForImpact
