A Harris-Walz ticket would be a disaster for proper usage of apostrophes in this country.

If you’re a “senior Democrat” that feels this way, you should absolutely retire and make space for true leadership that refuses to resign themselves to fascism.
This kind of leadership is functionally useless to the American people. Retire.

How many current govt's or potential gov'ts are we saddled with around the world where for one party it's stay in power or go to jail? Just spitballing: if you have the time for the corruption, we're a little less worried you won't have time for all the trial. Seems a good thing!
The trend of the last few years is to have all content framed by Wirecutter-type lists. Since I know it's only a matter of time before they come for us profs, I'm reworking my syllabi into Best Ethics Readings For 2024. We'll work down to number 1 best ethics buy by finals.

Well I have to say, it’s been quite lovely to log back in here. Not for anything else but that I was greeted with news left from the last time I was here: Henry Kissinger is dead. It can only go down from here.

The blast blasted blubber beyond all believable bounds!
I first saw this in my TV news reporting class in college, and it remains my favorite news story of all time.
#OTD in 1970, the Oregon Highway Division consulted with the U.S. Navy and decided the best way to dispose of a whale carcass was to blow it up with a 1/2 ton of dynamite. The explosion caused blubber to rain down on spectators for over a 1/4 of a mile. The TV segment is classic.
