From The New York Times, November 5, 2026 nytimes.com/2026/11/05/world… “The United Arab Emirates hired Colombian mercenaries to fight alongside a notorious Sudanese paramilitary group that has been accused of genocide, United Nations investigators have found. “A confidential report submitted to the Security Council last week and obtained by The New York Times details how an Emirati security company with close ties to the government moved the Colombians into Sudan through territory controlled by Emirati proxies in Libya and Somalia. “The report is the most detailed accounting yet by the United Nations of the Emirati role in Sudan’s civil war, in which the Emirates is accused of supplying drones, weapons and mercenaries to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or R.S.F., fueling a conflict that has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. “The U.N. findings come at a sensitive time for the Emirates. One of its top diplomats, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, who for years has led Emirati efforts to deny her country’s role in Sudan, is a candidate to become the next secretary general of the United Nations.”

If people who are behind take the lead, it means you're walking backwards. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are not the ones. Call your reps.

🚨Blue Nile SitRep🚨 @HRL_YaleSPH corroborates RSF drone strikes on Ad-Damazin in both civilian + military areas in the city and RSF / SPLM-N’s capture of Sali from SAF. Absolutely thrilled and encouraged to see HRF taking this stand! Nusseibeh and her government must be held accountable for fueling the genocide in Sudan.
HRF joins international outrage at the UAE’s nomination of Lana Nusseibeh for UN secretary-general. Nusseibeh is not only the soft face of a brutal dictatorship; she has also repeatedly run cover for her country's role in fueling and profiting from Sudan's war, the world’s worst humanitarian emergency. Her repeated denials and refusals to address incontrovertible evidence of the UAE’s arming and financing of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebel militia — which UN investigators have implicated in genocidal violence — should disqualify her.

They fled to Damazin for safety. Now the strikes are following them. Nearly 120,000 people displaced in Sudan’s Blue Nile state this year, almost half of them children (IOM). Protect civilians now. sapa-usa.org #Sudan #BlueNile

I feel sad about myself because I can't even get some attention and support. Every day is a daily battle; we try to stay strong, but we can't. We need a little support or help to remind us that we are not alone in this world. chuffed.org/project/202141-w…

The conflict in Sudan has entered a dangerous new phase as the Sudanese army and RSF shift from direct ground combat to drone warfare. With over 180 drones tracked in two months, attacks are systematically targeting power stations, fuel depots, and markets, paralyzing vital public services and deepening the humanitarian crisis. sudantribune.com/article/320… #Sudan #SudanConflict #RSF #SudaneseArmy #DroneWarfare #HumanitarianCrisis

If Britain just used its natural renewable resources properly we could be one of the most energy-secure countries in Europe. Instead, we have left ourselves entirely exposed to US/Israeli aggression in the Middle East…. because green energy is woke, or something.

In Sudan, the transportation crisis and fuel shortages have made the journey to school a daily challenge for students. Amid this hardship, Sudanese people have taken it upon themselves to use their cars and other means of transport to help students continue their education.
