Interest payments on the $40 trillion national debt consumes about 25% of all income taxes and FICA taxes collected by the US govt.
Back in 2002 it was about 12% of all taxes collected going to interest payments on the national debt.
The rate of % increase is accelerating.

The newest major poll is NBC News (released around September 20): Democrats sit at 29% favorable and 50% unfavorable, while the GOP is viewed favorably by 36% and unfavorably by 49%.
That puts Republicans 8 points higher than Democrats in net favorability.
So basically everyone hates Congress, they just hate Republicans less.

Two Louisiana brothers have been charged in connection with an alleged $1.7 MILLION Hamas fundraising network disguised as humanitarian aid for Gaza.
Federal prosecutors say Abdel Adhami, 35, contributed roughly $94,000 and Omar Adhami, 33, contributed about $11,000 to the network.
The operation allegedly collected more than $1.7 million since 2020, including at least $626,000 from U.S.-based donors.
Prosecutors say the brothers used multiple Snapchat accounts to push propaganda and solicit donations.
