am I too woke of a fic writer to be a little conflicted about fics being downloaded to personal drives without the author’s knowledge and shared/read without the author gaining any site engagment or is this something I should brush off and get over /gen

This is why ppl need to not just dump tons of pdfs to distribute them.
Not only does it not take into consideration locked fics but there's also fics tagged to not upload them anywhere else
If you respect authors you'll get permission before posting them

Just because a lot of people feel honored by being in those drives, doesn't earn you the right to share (locked) fics without asking, btw. I'd appreciate if you could take my works out of the numerous ones I've seen already.
I have no problems dming people stuff if they ask.
