Senior Greens will warn that the party has been taken over by pro-Palestinian activists who have replaced its environmental values with anti-Israeli politics. Adrian Ramsay, the former leader and MP for Waveney Valley, is expected to give an interview to the BBC on Sunday criticising what has happened to the party under the leadership of Zack Polanski. He leads a group of Green figures including former members of the European parliament as they call for a “conversation about the party’s direction”, after a series of scandals and internal party rifts about antisemitism.

We now have gangs painting the boats their national colours. They are taking the piss. We’re being invaded from Calais, Normandy - and now Belgium too. I will deploy the Royal Navy and stop the boats forever.
