We’re delighted that many participants shared their lived experiences online. We encourage the public to #ClickSafe: create a safety plan, report abuse, and take time to be slow and accurate. As the internet evolves, the community needs to evolve, especially for women. 3/3

🎙️ What happens when harassment follows you online? What protection do you have? Our latest Legal Tech Dialogue brought together an important conversation on “Online Harassment and Digital Rights: What Protection Do Users Have?” The discussion, featuring @BonaventureSK , Research Manager, Policy, and hosted by @TonyKiire , Managing Partner at @DiamondAdvocate , examined the realities of harassment in today’s digital spaces. From cyberbullying and hate speech to privacy violations, the conversation looked at the challenges users face online and the legal remedies available to those affected. In a digital world where anyone can become a target, knowing your rights is the first step towards protecting yourself. The conversation also raised an important question: Are our existing laws and protections doing enough to keep users safe online? At Legal Tech Dialogues, we continue to create spaces where law, technology and everyday digital experiences meet. 📺 Watch the full conversation here: youtu.be/-rEOZ2K-asY What digital right do you think users need to understand better? @PollicyOrg @LeoAfricaInst @African_center1

The @AMWIK State of Women in Media in Kenya Report 2026, exposes a systemic leaky pipeline driven by deep structural inequalities, economic insecurity, and safety threats. Despite strong educational qualifications, women journalists face a steep glass ceiling, making up a only 2.8% of media owners and 3.7% of managing editors. This lack of leadership is coupled with job instability, where nearly 60% of women operate in vulnerable freelancing, internship, or correspondent roles, and fewer than 14% secure permanent employment.

The Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Business and Digital Rights has officially commenced, highlighting the critical intersection of corporate operations and fundamental freedoms in the digital age. In her opening remarks, Ms. Laurianne Comard, Programme Officer at the European Union, underscored the EU’s commitment to fostering ethical business environments in Uganda. A central pillar of this effort is the support for the Uganda National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, backed by over 20 billion UGX. This funding is dedicated to strengthening human rights practices, with a specific focus on protecting labor rights and women's rights within business operations. This initiative is channeled through the "Advancing Respect for Human Rights by Businesses in Uganda" project (also known as the Business and Human Rights project).
