Report on national suicide rate recorded by real-time surveillance shows no change.
Why does this matter?
Because of a belief out there that suicide is ⬆️. It isn’t.
And because we are not seeing a fall. We should look to econ stress, alcohol & MH care to bring rates down.

Sometimes, the simplest thing we can do is pause.

We're often asked about this when we're talking to people. It’s easy to feel helpless when someone is struggling, but suicidal thoughts aren’t a final decision.
With understanding and the right support, many people find relief, stability and hope again.

✅ A year on, the Government has listened. Healthwatch is being kept, and strengthened.
👏 Thank you to colleagues who backed our letter, and to Healthwatch staff and volunteers who kept going through the uncertainty.
👇 Now let's make sure the "strengthened" part happens.

Taxpayers have funded two new helicopters for the Royal Family, whereas mountain rescue for their helicopters have to raise money through charitable efforts.
Now, is that right, in the 21st century? - Lord George Foulkes.
....
NOW, BRITISH TAXPAYERS IS THAT RIGHT, IN THE 21st CENTURY?
You would expect that a smaller royal family would result in less money from taxpayers, but that is not the case; the royal family is receiving more money than ever from taxpayers.
When the royal family was larger, it was cheaper. Fact.
